I need more information to assist you. Which section are you having issues with? Do you have fault codes (these will flash on screen inside unit)? Have you cleaned the condenser (if not please do so)? Do you have ice forming anywhere on the walls? Please get back to me when you can with answers to these questions. Thanks
This is typically a problem with the sealed system (refrigerant leak). Usually a circular patch of ice or water driplets half way down on the back wall. The solution involves replacing the evaporator coil. Subzero will give partial warranty up to 12 years.Full warranty for 5.A subzero authorized company is recomended.
The ice forming on the back wall of your sub zero indicates that you have a part failure. I don't recall exactly what the part is but as soon as you mention your symptoms to a sub zero repairman he'll know your problem. It's an easy fix. Everything comes out of the fridge, takes the inside back wall off and replaces the part. Not an inexpensive repair, however the part is guaranteed for 5 years so you may have an opportunity to have it replaced under warranty as I did.
The solution posted previously is TOTALLY WRONG. A Sub Zero ref doesn't have a heating element in the fresh food section. Only in the Frozen food section. It has 2 totally separate systems for each section. 2 Compressors and 2 evaporators. They share a condenser. If you are having ice build up in the refrigerator then the problem you are having is a refrigerant leak in the fresh food evaporator. You need to have a certified tech come out and replace the evaporator in your refrigerator section of your Sub Zero. Not sure what you are asking about the thermostat.
Our is doing the same thing, except we do not have ice forming on the back of the freezer. We were told by a refrigeration repair company that if ice is forming on the back of the freezer then the compressor is bad.
You do have a leak and it will be in the evaporator. So call a factory authorized company and have it replaced. The warranty of a Sub Zero sealed system is full parts and labor for years 1-5 and parts only in year 6-12. Sub Zero expects a lot of their service companies so it behooves you to call one. To find an authorized company go to http://www.subzero.com/locator/locator.aspx?type=0&zip= or call 800-222-7820
