Question about Pioneer DVR-213LS DVD±R Dual Layer Burner

"HDD REPLACEMENT IS NOT VALID..." error message

I install a Pioneer DVR-213LS DVD burner into a Dell computer. in Bios setup, PC recognizes the DVR-213LS, but when booting PC, it always pops up the message "HDD Replacement is not valid .... Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility...." when run Window XP, the DVD burner seems reading OK (not yet trying to burn anything). Please advise what I should do to get rid of the error message.
PS/ The DVD burner is SATA type.

    I have the same problem.
    On a Optiplex 755 Desktop, after I installed a 2nd Hdd,
    the  dreaded message appears..

    don't know what to do..

Hi,
Go to http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latd630/en/AMT/MEBX.htm
You have to disable Intel ME State Control , and you do not get any pop up masages any more.
I hawe that problem with secundary HDD.

    I received the "HDD Replacement Not Valid" error on my Dell Optiplex 755 after I installed a second hard drive. The solution is simple - In the BIOS, go to "Post Behaviour" and then "Keyboard Errors" and change the setting to "Do Not Report." The factory default is "Do Not Report." My first impression after making the change was that it wouldn't work cos I didn't think the error fell under the category "Keyboard Error," but it worked!

first make sure that your dvd drive has power. to test just press the eject button. go to device manager, find dvd/cd-rom drives there and expand it. If the pioneer dvr is present and has an exclamation point then just reinstall the driver for that drive. if not there then check in the bios if its there, just got to system information in your bios. If not there then open your tower and unplug and replug the cable connecting your drive to te motherboard. then check again.

Yes, there is something to do with operating system because most likely it only works for 32Bit OS only.

DVD RW DVR-K16 does not recognize blank DVD-R
I have a Pioneer DVDRW DVR-K16, in a sony dv81114Notebook. Running Windows XP. It cannot play dvd's and cd's, It will recognize blank CD-R's but when I insert a DVD-R it say's no disc installed. I have firmware version 1.15.

CD DRIVE - NOT RECOGNIZED
If you are having a problem with one particular cd.... examine it for scratches or smudges.

Wrong DVD/CD drive type
Did the Pioneer come with its own drivers if so then install those if not search google.com for the correct drivers youll find it will recognize the dvd?.
