Please check your device manager if the CD/DVD rom is not installed. Click on Start the right click on "My computer / Computer" then click on manage. Computer management window will pop up.Look for device manager. On the right side column look for CD/DVD, If the driver is not there you will need to install the driver.
Right click on one of the icon there then click on Scan for harware changes. Then restart your computer. If it doesn't work, we might need to get into the system registry.

I hve a compaq presario 5000 desktop. It will boot up to the desktop with these errors QTTask Error Kernel32.dll and Active Desktop Recovery. Then it freezes up. I can restart it, but it won't go past this point. Any suggestions.
