JVC av-56pw30 Picture Adjustment

My picture is on a slight slant and part of the screen is cut off. I cannot see the the bottom of the screen (e.g. sports scores and the color buttons for my remote are mostly cut off at the bottom of the screen). I have used the menu adjustment to move the screen to its top most vertical position but still the bottom is cut off. How can I adjust this so that the picture is square and all on the screen, please?

Sounds like you have a convergence problem and the set will require repair. This repair will run somewhere around $400 if you have a good company complete the repair for you.

If you are interested in doing this repair yourself you will need to be able to use a meter and solder VERY well.

If you have more questions please email me.

Thank you,

Picture is slightly tilted

Its an easy adjustment but it requires you to work around the deflection yoke on the neck of the picture tube. Above the yoke is a red connector that is carrying 30,000 volts then on the yoke itself you have wires that are connected to the horizontal and vertical circuits that can carry up to a 1200 volt pulse. So this alignment is not for anyone but a technician. I personally would leave the tilt until you can have a technician touch it up for you. Take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Picture not fitting on screen

Unfortunately, this is an internal adjustment that can not be done by you without voiding the warranty. Call the store and request warranty service. You should not have to pay to get this resolved.

About halfway down are some good settings for picture, especially in theater mode on hd. As for the slant go here:

Slanting Picture

The yoke has probably come loose and tilted.. From the rear of the set looking on the back of the crt you'll find a copper wire wound magnet called the yoke. It terminates on the neck of the yoke with a clamp. With the set off slightly loosen the clamp and turn the yoke assembly in the opposite direction - key word here is slightly - and apply power to check the alignment.
Keep doing this until you achieve the alignment you want. And always remember to unplug the set between attempts.

you have to get into the tv to do the adjustment. take the cover off and then look for the CRT tube and follow the yoke cables that will lead you to the printed circuit. you should see some small tiny knobs there. something like vertical phase or horizantl Phase..you need the verital to adjust the vertical size of the pic..good luck
