Whirlpool duet washer wont run

The problem is when the washer is on the tub will not spin.the motor just humms .i took the back panel off and checked the belt on the tub and it seemed fine i also was able to move the tub by hand and spin the belt from the back. it all seemed to be in place so i put it all back together and started a cycle the tub started to work and my wife said that it was working because when she tried to do a load the other day it did nothing. however when we put some clothes in it started out ok but nthen it stopped and we had the same problem it just stopped and started to humm so we shut it down and could really use some input on what may be wrong thanks

Sounds as if perhaps the hummm is coming form the drain pump not the motor, remove the front cover and you ll be able to acess the drain pump resivior, unscrew it and you find all sorts if things jammed into the pump preventing free spinning, 7 years servicing this unt never saw a bad motor, 1000's of pumps

Whirlpool Duet GHW9100LW wont spin. Drains fine, but no spin.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Door Switch
This can cause the washer to agitate but not go into the spin cycle. You will need to remove the door switch to check it. You will perform an ohm reading on the bottom terminals. The reading varies from manufacturers most Frigidaires is around 1500 ohms others like the whirlpool duet is checked at the main control board with the door closed should be around zero ohms. You will need to refer to the tech sheet or service manual for the proper reading.

Main Control Module / CCU
The main control unit is the circuit board located behind the console. If the door switch tests good the main control is usually the problem. Check all connections for a goood tight fit. You will need to refer to the tech sheet or service manual to check this further. The main control is easy to replace.

Motor Control Module

The motor Control Module is located inside the cabinet down near the motor. This recieves the signals from the main control module then relays this information to the motor. Check all connections sometimes a communcation problem is just a loose connection. The Motor Control Module is easy to replace. To check this further you will need to refer to your tech sheet or service manual.

F30 error code...what is this problem?

F30 is a dispenser failure code on the Duet Sport washer.
It means the dispenser motor will not go to the proper position.
Remove the top of the washer and inspect the dispenser linkage to see if it is binding up.
Post back with what you find and we will check from there.
Thanks/Mike

Washer motor humms and won't spin after filing up with water

remove the water pump from the motor but not from the hoses and start the washer. if it starts then you have a sock or something caught inside the pump holding the motor. remove the object or replace the pump if needed. if the motor wont start then unplug the washer, remove the motor and turn by hand. if it feels hard replace motor. if it moves then leave motor out and move the gear case where the motor connects by hand. if it wont move then 2 things may happen. 1)gear case lockup or a piece of clothing caught between the tubs.

if the washer agitates but wont spin with the humming sound then I say the later. a piece of clothing caught between the tubs.

Washer wont spin ...motor runs but drum doesnt

If this is a Duet front loader, you need to check to see if the drive belt may have broken, or slipped off the drive pulley behind the wash tub.

To access and replace/reinstall the belt, the following link explains:

If you have any questions, or if the model washer you have is different, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Frontload Duet. The tub will not spin, the belt

I am not an expert but I would suspect a failing bearing has seized up. Mine would spin one direction, but not the other. I worked it and got it to go both ways, but with a snapping sound. This is checked by spinning the pulley with the back panel off (machine unplugged of course).

I have a Whirlpool LA6800XTWO washer. When I run it, it fills with water, but it does not spin, agitate, or pump the water out. When it gets to a point that it should do one of the above things all I...

sounds like a broken coupler, looking at your wiring diagram this unit would agitate with lid up right? then lid sw is not your problem, if it does not drain either then motor must be not turning over, so i would check the capacitor first. (it on the back panel behind the tub)

Whirpool Duet Sport Front Loading Washer is making a funny noise

open top cover (two or three screws on rear and slide back) and look at rear of tub checking clearance to rear panel and nothing touching belt or pulley. whirlpools tend to have a high pitch low volume whine anytime motor operates.
you really dont want to replace that bearing. part of tub assm. $400 part plus labor
