Ok dont worry, this is an easy fix. some xbox's come with parental controlls already set. go to your xbox 360's dashboard and go to the very last tab and go to parental controlls and just set all of the controlls to the lightest settings and it SHOULD let you play on xbox live unless you have MULTIPLE PROFILES with parental controls already on.

To play ONLINE Call of Duty then you will need a Gold account. I am assuming that you had bought a 3 month membership to Gold and that is why it has run out?

If the Xbox 360 is used then you still might have a few free trial periods free for 1 month Xbox Live. If I recall previously you could load up to 4 trial accounts. So try just creating a new user profile and see if it doesn't give you one month free for that account? If not then the previous owner has used all the trial accounts.

Make sure you don't use a credit card when signing up to Xbox Live though... it will automatically be set to charge you for renewal when your Gold Account runs out.

If you have to get a Gold account then I recommend you purchase the Live cards at your local store. Some people go onto Ebay and find cheap deals... but I have heard of a few people complain when getting cards that don't work.

This is a common problem, just keep trying to update, no need to test the connection. Sometimes it takes a few tries, sometimes it takes a few hundred tries, but eventually it will connect and download the update.

It is a compulsary update for your Xbox 360 system so it can support the feature you are trying to do. So you really might want to join to Xbox Live by creating an Xbox Live account and by signing in to Xbox Live, it will automatically install the latest firmware to update your system.

Requires an xbox live membership with permission to play live

Hi,

You shouldn't need the parental controls changed to log onto Xbox Live. However, since you switched computers make sure that your Xbox is getting connection to the internet correctly. You can 'Test Connection' in the settings tab of the Xbox home screen.

If you are getting the internet connection correctly and logging in with your normal Gamertag, you should have no problems.

You do not have permissions to perform this operation is the message that comes up when i try to play mark of the wolves game OFFLINE

check your family settings

and privacy settings

to check family settings,
sign in using your gamertag,
press the xbox guide button the xbox logo on the controller,

navigate to the right two times, select family settings,
make sure that on console contols and xbox live controls, make sure that nothing is blocked

to navigate the privacy settings, sign in, navigate to the right two times, select profile, edit profile, select privacy settings, make sure every option is set to everyone, or allowed

if you see cant see the privacy settings on the on the edit profile you probably have a child account

My xbox 360 profile is corrupt.

IF your profile is not an xbox live account, your xbox profile cannot be recovered, however, if your account is an xbox live account all you need to do is have no one signed in, press the center xbox button, go down to recover account and enter your information
