Question about RIM BlackBerry 7290
Sounds like the charging port has gone bad. Try CPR in New York City. They are faster than the
manufacturer, and cheaper! They
have a usual turnaround of 1-2 business days. And if you become a fan on their
facebook page, mention it and you will get a 10% discount.
Here is the link to their facebook page, it has all the info you need.
Hope it helps!

Have you tried changing the battery?

Honestly, bring the phone, battery, and both the home-charger and USB-cable into a Storefront location that has a technician (call-ahead) and plan on dropping off your phone for a few hours. They will test the battery, phone and charger and let you know which, if any are defective and replace under warranty if you are still under warranty. Don't forget to take advantage of any upgrade offers, as this is an older model and you may be much happier with a store-representative matching-you with a device that fits your needs and is problem-free! (Usually it's the battery on this model - probably around $30-$40 for a new one - the batteries do degrade slowly over the months and years.)

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
