i have a FILM 645 mamiya, not a digital as the 1st response solution refered toso my quandry still exists.

  • rentalshoe Oct 11, 2008

no movement so far. how can i take off the film advance lever from the old 645 to put on the one I just got that has none, maybe this would complete a cycle that would unjam the shutter, the mirror is stuck on the ceiling of the body. must have had a automatic handle advance before I got it.

My 645 has a stuck shutter, I need to put a film advance handle on it to see if that is problem, how can I take a film advance handle off my old 645 for this newer one to see if I can activate the shutter, my newer one must have had apower handle and it came bare. surely its simple to remove a handle, hasselblad is simple but this mamyia stumps me.

Mamiya doesn't offer a downloadable pdf file, however, the manual in its entirety can be read here:

Hi, You could try this:
Try1: Remove the film, and reload the insert with an empty spool only. Then try winding to frame 1 and shoot. Sometime there is a  odd chance that something (film/ insert) related was jamming somewhere.

Try 2: Set the camera to Multi-mode to fire without film. Set the shutter to "B" on the body (Doesn't need a battery) and see if it works.

:) found these in photo.net

If the shutter is jammed just off the device, and slightly pull the shutter door with your hand 3-4 times.apply a drop of oil on both the sides.and then on the device.and check it will work.
and for the replacement off the handle you will have to check on the old device that where are locks in the back you just have to remove that locks, also check for the hidden screws in the centre or back of the handle.which may be blocking it to be removed easily.

thanks.

Nikon D3100 shutter "problem"?

Are your pictures properly exposed and are they sharp or are your pictures degraded? Is that 1/3-second you describe a delay between the time you push the shutter release and the time the picture is taken or somthing else? Check to make sure you're in the proper shutter release mode (slider switch to right of the mode dial). Also, your self-timer may be turned on. Your camera allows you to set a 2 or 10 second delay from the menus. If it is set to 2 seconds and turned on, it might seem like a 1/3-second delay. If that doesn't help, you camera is covered by Nikon's warranty. Contact Nikon Service at 1-800-NIKON-US (1-800-645-6687) 9AM-8PM EST, Monday to Friday.

Wont turn on after having brand new batteries put in

The non-functioning of the camera can be a fault in the shutter, zoom or auto focus sections and may be due to the failure of the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must the camera be opened. If so check the voltage on the motor drive, check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and released. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

Stuck shutter release button on my D100

Ouch...

The damage may require parts, but maybe not. If I were doing the work, I would charge in the $50-$60 range , plus parts if needed.

Nikon will likely quote you much higher $200+
