Question about Lavazza Espresso Point Capsule Machine

Open Question

Lavazza Espresso Point not working, lights but not functioning.

I got an Espresso Point machine from a friend who said it stopped working and was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. When plugged in and switched on, only the red power light in the top left corner comes on steady. If I lower the water level float the "Don't Brew" light under it flashes. No other lights on the right work. The counter is only at 001542, I have one spent coffee cartridge with it and it doesn't make any difference it in the machine or not. Also, when I push the coffee cartridge through and it pops down into the drawer, is the counter supposed to go up another number? Mine doesn't. I have taken the machine apart a little as I have worked on some espresso machines myself like my Gaggia Classic. When turned on with the red power light on the tank does not get warm. Is there a failure on the pc board inside? Is there a reset procedure somehow?

Thanks in advance to anyone with any suggestions.

SOURCE: When I try to brew

You a have a blockage in the spouts. This is caused by a number of things:

  • You used the wrong grind coarseness in the pre-grind
  • you used the wrong cleaning table for the machine (this is the most common)
  • you have an insect in the spout
  • The plumbing system has a fault, where the switch that re-routes the water is stuck
Try the following:
  • Take a paper clip and bend it open
  • Then that the point of the bent open peice, and insert in each one of the spouts and check if there is a blockage
  • if you feel something or something comes out, see if the rinse works, try a few times
If that does not solve the problem then you may need to get a service tech to look at it

SOURCE: cold espresso

it may be the the back fuses not working or the two thermostat are not working good, or the worst possibility can be the electronic card.

SOURCE: Lavazza point espresso machine no steam

Sounds like a clogged steam pipe or a jammed two-way valve. First, I would try unfolding a small paper clip and then stick it up the spout of the steam pipe. if this does not free up the steaming arm then it is most likely a clogged two way valve. SOURCE: Gaggia baby espresso machine-Steam button is stuck

The only thing that comes to mind is that the machine is in steam/hot water mode. Unless you replace the switch and turn off the steam light so that it sends the water to the correct location. Also you might want to remove the shower screen and make sure it is clean.

Machine Stopped working. lights come on but grinder doesn't start

Suggestion:
Make sure there is no capsule trapped in the machine.
Unplug the unit and with for about a minute.
Plug it in again.
Same problem again: repeat process, but reset the dosing (see the manual - I believe it is done by holding buttons down on start-up, or something similar)
You may have simply put the machine in a kind of learning mode, in order to alter the dosing setting which has a default.

If the espresso coffee outputs too much water and doesn't stop, there is an easy fix. The quantity adjustment for the machine is off. After looking through the user manual, I found out that you could press and hold the espresso button, and then follow the on-screen instructions where you can specify the quantity poured.

sound like you blew a fuse. There is a little fuse box next to the on/off switch. You can buy new fuses at espressozone.com. Hope that helps!

Typically when this has happened I have found the issue being the plug holder and fuse block. Simply have the Plug Holder and Fuse Block replaced and the issue should be resolved.

The only possibilities I see here are either the Plug Holder with Fuse Block which sometimes goes bad and periodically will shut down the unit. The other possibility is that the Electronic Card has gone bad. It over-heats and shuts down power.

if you go to the plug and the machine meet. pull out the plug and attached to the machine (where the plug goes into) if you pull this black out of the machine. Located in there are two small fuses', looking at them you will noticed if they are burned out or not. Pick up new ones at home depot.

Hamilton Beach Espresso Machine not working

When you turn on the steam switch, does the steam light turn on, then eventually turn off when it comes up to temp?

If so, your wand may be plugged with a dried plug. I have resolved this by pouring boiling water into my steaming pitcher and soaking the wand for several minutes, then fire up the machine and heat for steam, then blast it out.

Might take a few tries. You may also need to run a thin wire, like a guitar string, up the wand to help free up the plug.
