Clean the timing strip. or The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough . Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Hello, my Canon PIXMA IP1600 is suddenly not working and has a code 5100 erorr. What to do?

Error 5100 is always a carriage error.
first thing to do is check is check the timing strip(plastic strip wide around 1/4 inches and usually located behind the print head)
Make sure there is nothing around it like piece of paper or staple or pen/pencil etc.
Make sure the strip is moving freely and hasnt come out of the roller.

Check VERY thoroughly for any obstruction at all, a very small piece of paper can cause the problem.

Canon printer flashes "e" then "2" twice?

A sensor in the printer is reporting that one of the print cartridges has been incorrectly installed.

Quickest solution is to power off the printer, remove each cartridge, ensure all packaging has been completely removed and then reinstall the cartridges and power back up.

Bought new ink but photos arent printing.

It is more than likely the print head itself. It seems to be a problem with these printers.
