I called tech support and their answer was simple!
Error Code U30 1.......the fix, press and hold the number one (1) on your remote and at the same time press and hold the ENTER button for 10 seconds while pointing the remote at the units sensor.
Automatically, my unit returned to normal and all my buttons on my remote returned to operational mode!
So, it was confirmed by Vincent at Panasonics tech support, that error codes U30's are rare, but it's a system safety feature. If you were to come across an error U30 2, you would push and hold the number 2 while pressing and holding down the ENTER button....so on and so forth.
I hope this helps someone else out there!

Yeah, I have this same issue too! How do I fix it???? It seems to have happened after I hooked up my new Digital Converter Box and XBOX Console (not sure which might be causing issues). I've got new batteries in the remote and I find it agervating that there isn't a troubleshooting code in the user manual or online about this particular error code! I just wanna be able to use my remote again for the damn thing!
