My problem is similar but the screen got off but I can still hear the actors in the background. Two nights ago it started to fail (screen go black) every 30 minutes for a 30 second duration, thenthe screen wuld be restored. No it happens every 2 minutes as if the 3 LCD's were failing. I've called for service as I'm under a warranty and will determine the cause.

When I turn on the TV, both audio and video work for about 3 to 5 seconds. Then the TV, both audio and video go blank, after another 3 to 5 secons both audio and video come back on. This cycle continues to occur while the TV is on. Is there something I can do to fix this problem.

Try changing the lamp, as sometimes an old or weak lamp will cause this symptom. USE AN ORIGINAL SONY LAMP as the replacements are unreliable

L32W961 screen goes black then comes back on. later when video comes back sound does not

That is definitely a manufacturers error.
If it has been less than a year since you purchased it i would contact them.
They will send you to a service center. If it cant be fixed they will replace your tv.
It is all covered by them.
If it is past a year its honestly not worth fixing it,
You can find name brand 32 inch tv's for less than 250
while fixing it would cost around 150.

Connect dvd player element tv

Yes if the set has a set of audio/video jacks(a rear or side input) and that would be cheaper than fixing the player in the set.

Video turn off and audio works fine

There could be several things going on. I would seriously recommend you get a diagnoses on the set. But the first thing I would do is when the video goes away, dim the lights in the room and shine a bright light on the panel. If you see a faint image on the screen, you have a back light circuit fault. If you see nothing while shining the light on the panel, you have a fault in your video circuit which could be due to overheating on main board or t-con. Again with so many possibilities at hand, I would get a professional diagnoses.

My Sony KDF-E60A20 loses audio and video in a cyclical manner

Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher. You should call the manufacturer for your full range of options.

Screen goes blank, audio still works

I had this problem on my 42" Philips. Just got it yesterday and worked fine on the tv stand. As soon as I mounted the TV to the wall via wall mount system, I had the exact same issue you did. Figured it out today.

The wall mount was putting pressure against the center of the back of the tv (tv set had a slightly rounded back plate, and the mount was a flat plate). As soon as I put spacers (part of the wall mount hardware set) between the wall mount braket and the tv so there was no contact except at the mounting holes, the tv worked fine.

My theory is the pressure pushed the tv back plate against some board components which caused them to overheat (no air flow); or put pressure on internal connectors. I dont know.

Hope this helps, may not apply to your situation.
