if you are afraid to update the bios i dont blame you dont do it. If the bios updates and your processor is no longer supported becasue the amount of size of the bios chihps memory the manufacture can only put in a limited amount of info so dont update bios. If i were you i would go into control panel and remove any audio software related to your sound card. Then go into the device manager( right click my computer' then properties. then device manager and then scroll down to sounds video and game cont. and expand this . see if there is a sound card installed if so remove it as well as all software related to it. After this at top of device man. screen click on scan for changes . when it finds your sound card you will get a prompt to search everytwhere this includes the internet agree to do this ......then you might get another prompt to go online agree to this. see if this helps. oh i forgot to mentioin to make sure those speakers do work if you can plug them into another computer or vice versa see if you can borrow a little set of speakers from someone and see if those work. and make sure to plug into green port on back closest to your monitor cable. let me know how you made out and good luck

VIDeo CARD not working

You will need drivers for the FX5000 first, disable the driver for the one your using, shut down and then install the new FX5000, boot up and wait until the VGA comes on, it can take several mins sometimes.

I lost my drivers and manual for my P4Vmm2

Hi, The elitegroup webiste is From there you can click on the downloads tab in the top right corner. This page will then bring up a pane on the left hand side of the screen where you can enter the details of the product you are looking for. So on the first drop menu select motherboad. Second Drop menu select Socket 478 from the bottom of the list. Third drop menu scroll down until you see your model number (P4Vmm2) The fourth drop menu will then ask you for a version. I would have dirctly posted you a link to the downloads page but i was unsure of your motherboard version. If you know the version number you can put it in there and it will take you to a page listing the drivers you are after and the manual. If you do not know the version of your motherboard model you can download a free program called SIW which will tell you the details of your computer. This Program is available for download at: Its a 1.3Mb download which you can install and run and click on the motherboard tab for a full list of details on your motherboard. Hopefully you can see the motherboard version written somewhere on your motherboard though. Hope this helps, Daniel.
