Did you check the low ohm resistors? Its not uncommon for some of them to be opend when the ICs go out.

Ur tv have a problems call convergence,it dead.The convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors are dead.All these parts are dead,must be change to solved the convergence problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for the parts and labors.

You need to replace the convergence board in your tv .


Also you have mentioned it is 5 years old so its time to replace it .
But it will not be cost effective one .

That will be a convergence issue that needs to be repaired by a technician.

Seeing doubles


there is an adjustment called convergence.the convergence setup generates a crosshatch.you need to adjust the red deflection.this is a common thing when the t.v gets moved.the crosshatch or convergence button is mostly on the front control panel.consult the manual for where it is.

Double vision..


Adjust the convergence in the menu. If it will not adjust then solder connections on convergence ics or ics themselves need replaced.

The convergence IC's are definitely bad. They are not a plug-in device, they solder in so this is a big job.

need to replace the convergence ICs and possibly the convergence resitors . You need STK392-110 ICs you can get the ICs and the convergence resiistor kit for your model at the following link with free instalation instructions

DOUBLE IMAGES


How do we adjust convergence? I went to the service menu and all I see is alot of settings none of which help me out.

Can anyone explain this in further detail?

Double lines


There is a manual convergence setting. Press Menu until you see the option of convergence. Save settings by pressing Power until you see Save Ok. You can exit the convergence screen by pressing the PIP button. 0 reloads the convergence. It will periodically go out of wack again.
