SOURCE: Installed new P4M900-M4 MB. System will not boot

Hi rhvc59,

Something isn't setup correctly on the board. There could be many things that could stop the system from turning on, Determining if it works is like detective work. What I do, is take everything off the board to start. Then add the minimum to start a board to see if it will start. That's one drive (cd or otherwise) the CPU, and one bank of memory. (that's not a required eliminate, but it helps avoid beep codes) Also, make sure you have your pin's set on the board absolutely correct, or that could be your problem to begin with. Now, you should get the power supply on, and the cpu. If those don't power up, it's then either one of the five elements. The CPU, Power supply, Ram, Drive, or the motherboard. The next step is to replace each one of the first four to see if you get any change. If no change, then I usually get another board that I can test the first four, and make sure that they work. After that, then I say you have a DOA Board. But if you are successful on all equipment, then it was worth doing it one by one.

Good Luck
Mark

SOURCE: I HAVE A P4M900-M4 MOTHERBOARD,

First thing to try would be a full cmos reset, most motherboards will accomplish this if you remove the cmos battery overnight then replace and start the machine back up

Hi I need to connect my sound to my board. - mic bias ; mic in ; spkout l ; spkout r; return l; return r; gnd . What is the sequence to fit them to the nine pin connector. Thanks

The "Pin out" is in the motherboard manual.
If not, download the manual of a quality board. (Gigabyte for example), the pin out will be documented, and it is mostly standard.

I have an LGA 775 motherboard and I'm looking for the audio pin layout on J11 My pins are mic in, mic bias, gnd, spkoutL, spkoutR (last two have piggybacks with the same label)

I think your J11 is for front or rear speaker outputs.
The mic should plug directly to the board with no problems

If you have problems, you should be able to get a board layout at Abit.com

Installed new P4M900-M4 MB. System will not boot up. Screen shows startup but when I press the delete button for setup, it just sits there. At the bottom it says "entering setup", but goes nowhere.

First reattach all connection top motherbord.
Refix RAM memory.
Pull cmos cell for 15 minutes from motherbord so all bios settings are reset.
heck your power supply unit of computer working fine.
