I purchased Adobe Photoshop CS3 but cannot install it onto my
computer. Nothing has worked although I have been researching the
problem online. This has been the first time I have ever had difficulty
installing a program onto my computer.

adobe Photoshop cs3 10 is the latest version of photo shop make sure that you pc is eligible to accept the software. It is simple to find .take Photoshop 7.0 or below install it in you system .If it works, your PC is not eligible for adobe Photoshop cs3 10
When you purchased the product, you would have received the authorization code, either on a certificate that came in the box or on the Cd itself. Just look for it. If you do not have it, you can contact adobe and they will need to see your receipt and have all of your personal info to correct the situation. No two authorization codes are the same. It is set up that way so software can not be passed around or loaned for installation. Only the person purchasing the software is allowed to have the installation on their PC.
The point of an upgrade edition of a piece of software is so that you can upgrade your existing software. You need Photoshop 7 or higher to use the upgrade. If you don't have it, you will need to return/refund your purchase of the cs3 upgrade, and get the full version of the software instead.
Your other option is to purchase an earlier version of adobe photoshop, in order to install it so that you can upgrade it. Seems very round-about but I suppose it would work, and I'll bet if you find adobe photoshop 7 somewhere, it'll be awfully cheap ;)
