You do not list a full model number. Typically a JBP78_____ uses a WB44X10013 bake element. Disconnect power to range. Take out two 1/4 inch hex head screws holding element in at back of oven. Pull element out a few inches into oven. Disconnect wires. Reverse to install. Not too hard if it is an exposed element. A bit more involved on ranges with "hidden" bake elements (which are under the floor of the oven).

Why are my rolls not cooking on the bottom but fine on the top and my element is working fine

My guess is this is an electric range. If I am right then it has 2 elements--one on top and one on the bottom. Plus you stated it has convection cooking. Sounds like the bottom element in not working right so all you are cooking with is the top element. In convection cooking the fan circulates the air for even cooking.and sometimes has its own element around the fan. Look closely at the bottom element for any burned out or melted areas that might show. Sometimes they just burn out with no outward signs.

Heating element in the oven appears to burn out, can it be repla

yes but be sure to turn the breaker off or unplug the stove cause the element has power on it on one side all the time and will short out when you take it out. you should see a screw on the plate that the element is attached to in the back of the oven that is how you get it out..

Bottom heating element in oven is not heating up.

If the element only works partially or not getting red hot at the "Hi" setting, the problem might be with a burned out receptacle that the element plugs into. If this is the case, replace both the element and the receptacle.

You can usually tell when the element itself burns out. It might have small holes or bubbles on the coil. Replace the element, if found defective.

BROILER ELEMENT WOULD NOT TURN OFF WITH OVEN

I just had the same problem! I would not have known that the broiler was still on, since the red light was off, except that the oven got so hot that the drips started to burn. The only solution was to turn off the circuit breaker.

This sounds like a serious safety issue!

My guess so far is that there is a broiler relay that has shorted in the on position and will need to be replaced. Until then I cannot use the stove or oven.

Flame from electrice heating unit with range turned off

Your bake element blew out. Easy to replace... turn off the power (unplug) and replace the element by removing two screws holding it into the oven. Then you have two wires to the element and they either push on or have screw on terminals

I'd say its not a normal event, and that the element is about to burn out. I just replaced mine and on the old element there was a nice burn mark where once the element was solid.
