My computer wont load/install my sims2 game it has no scratchs and all the expansion packs work i duno what to do

It won't run the cd when you put the cd in your computer? Try putting the cd in. Then go to Start > My Computer > look for the drive that the cd is in ( it will have a picture of the sims ) > double click that > then double click the .exe file (typically is called "install.exe" or "sims.exe". This should run the installation and then you're set.

Install Xp From Dos

If XP will not install from the CD or if you have a new drive with no operating system onit yet try these:

Install Windows XP from the hard drive with Windows 98 already installed:

Boot Windows 98
Insert the XP CD into your CD reader
Explore Windows XP through My Computer
Copy i386 folder to C:\
Go into C:\i386 folder and double click on winnt32.exe to launch the setup from the hard drive

Install Windows XP from DOS (ie. no OS on a new hard drive):

Boot with a Windows 98 Start Up disk
Insert the Windows 98 CD into the CD reader
Run smartdrv.exe from the Win98 directory on the windows 98 CD (file caching)
Type cd.. to back up to the root directory
Insert Windows XP CD into the CD reader
Copy the i386 folder to C:\
Go into C:\i386 folder on C: and type winnt.exe to launch the setup from the hard drive.

I am fairly new to PCs. I recently purchased a Toshiba 205 and have Vista SP1.  I purchase Print Shop Delux 22 and started the installation process before I read the statement about don't start...

Hello, Encore Software has released a patch to make Print Shop Deluxe 22 compatible on Windows Vista.

Here is what they say here:

http://support.encoreusa.com/kb.asp?id=571

Problem I am looking for the Vista compatibility patch. Solution This Windows® Vista update will detect and repair The Print Shop® 22 and PrintMaster® 17 applications already installed on your computer. After applying this update The Print Shop® 22 and PrintMaster® 17 will operate normally on computers running Windows® Vista.

Update Instructions
1. Click the link located at the bottom of this page.
Note: For Microsoft® Internet Explorer® the File download dialog may appear. Select Save this program to disk and click OK.

2. Choose a location (e.g., the Desktop) and click Save. The download process will begin.

3. When the download is complete, close the Download window.

4. Locate and double-click the Broderbund_Print_Update.exe file that was downloaded to begin installing the update.

5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
Note: Depending on system or user account settings, you may encounter several interruptions during the installation process. If so, please click Continue or Allow in order to proceed.

6. Launch and use The PrintShop® 22 or PrintMaster® 17.

Click here to download Broderbund_Print_Update.exe (26.7 MB)

Can't get the Print Workshop 2009 software to load. I have put in D:\setup.exe about 10 times and nothing happens. If you can help I would appreciate it. I am not a computer whiz so tell in easy steps....

Follow the maker's install instructions for installing it on the proper OS and hardware.  Go on and use the graphical interface as they say, even if you use adaptive tools to do it (clicking on a disk icon is hard for blind people, after most fashions.)   If you can get an error message out of it, perhaps from installing from in Windows PowerShell instead of a start-menu command line, that would be an improvement.

I am trying to install Resume Workshop on my new computer and it has Vista operating system

Most programs written for Windows XP also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows doesn't run correctly, use the Program Compatibility Wizard to change the compatibility settings for the program. To change settings for a program manually, use the individual program's Compatibility tab.
If changing the settings does not fix the problem, go to the program manufacturer's website to see if there is an update for the program.

How to Run the Program Compatibility Wizard 1. Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Use an older program with this version of Windows.
2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the wizard, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the icon for the program, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.
