Water deposits on glassware

Model DWU7400AAE Maytag built in dishwasher. Tower of water sprayers, heating element, and bottom drain all coated with water deposits. Have tried rinse-aids and dishwasher cleaner.

Just bought our new dishwasher and we have not been able to get good results. Our new silverware has some sort of discoloration, also some have rust spots. Glasses often come out with specs. Very disappointed- our water is conditioned, 133 degrees at the sink, and we use the recommended Cascade Platinum Pacs and Cascade Complete rinse-aid. Tried changing rinse aid dispenser to 2. We started with the auto wash feature, when that didn't work, we used extra heat, when that didn't work we bumped it up to jet clean plus with high temp, with heated dry, extra dry & sanitize. With all that we still have spotting. What should we try?

Dishwasher not draining

In the bottom of your dishwasher is a grill where food particals can land and sometimes things like noodles and large meat chunks don't get ground up small enough. Get out your instructionbook for the dishwasher and see if they have a section on what to do if it doesn't drain. Best to first check your instructions or if you don't have any google the make and model and see if you can find any from the Manufacture. The bottom water sprayer piece might be able to be easily lifted off and under that you should see where the drain is. Sometimes the heating element is in the way, Make sure you didn't just run the washer because this might still be hot to the touch!. If you can get a flashlight take a look at where the drain is in the bottom and try probing with a Q-Tip. Don't loose the Q-Tip. See if you can feel around to get the layout, (if it's an elbo it will stop the Q-tip rather short in). The other thing depends on your model, some models have the grinder built in to the drain and it works on a pumping action, that as the grinder grinds it also pushes fluid like a pump.

My dishes come out of the dishwasher with a white milky coating on them. Especially glassware is very milky.

Hi

White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.

Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

Dishwasher comes on, fills with water, water heats, no movement of the arms so no water spraying out, then the water drains, it goes through the dry cycle and no clean dishes.

What is the manufacturer and model number of your dishwasher?
Depending on the model and design, the sprayer motor/pump has probably failed and the drain motor/pump is still working.
Recommend you pull the sprayer arm and filter. Look for debris that could be jamming the pump - watch out for broken glass when looking.
Make sure the impeller can spin and is not damaged.
If that does not fix the problem, replace the wash motor / pump or replace the entire dishwasher with an Energy Star qualified name brand model.
Good Luck!

Water not hot nor warm

When you run the hot water at the kitchen sink until it is hot and start a cycle on your dishwasher, is water hot when you open the door after it stops filling?
If no, the diswasher is connected to the cold water line, not the hot water line. The water temerature entering should be a minimum of 120 degrees but no hotter than 140 degrees.
If the water going in is hot, but it cools down after each filling then the heating element has failed and needs to be replaced. When the heating element fails, the dishes, especially the glassware will be foggy and still dirty.
Please reply with what you find. Good Luck!

Maytag jet clean model#dwc7400aaw

Check to see in you have enough water in tank. The dishwasher fills then recirculates this water under pressure. If you have water in tank, listen to see if motor is running or not. If it is, you may have clogged jet holes in the wash arms.
