Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 Digital Camera

1 Answer

White screen (no image) on a Pansonic DMC- otherwise functions properly

I don't know....... I was taking pictures yesterday when suddenly the screen went white and there is no image on the screen. However, it takes pictures and I can download them on my computer. Yikes, I just don't know what I am taking pictures of. It is just point and guess..........

Thanks for any help you can give me with this - otherwise a new camera in in the near future.

Hello Betty,

I am sure you have tried this but I will mention it again. Remove battery from camera, let it charge and pop it back in. That may clear up the problem.

Maybe the issue is due to EVF (Electronic View finder). Clicking the EVF button (Next to the viewfinder on the right) might put it right.

Incase I have misunderstood the situation, kindly explain it to me once again.

Regards
Satdeep

Lcd screen gone wonky

This sounds like the screen is damaged. When you are taking the photo, can you see the image clearly. If not, the screen is damaged and you need to replace the screen.
If you can, however, see the image clearly, then check that your settings aren't putting on any effects

Panasonic DMC-TZ3 Purchased in 2007, the camera has worked fine until now. It has not been dropped or anything. Suddenly now there is a very bad purple distortion both on the LCD and the pictures I...

Most likely this is either an issue with a custom white balance, color tone, or the image sensor is starting to go.

Set the white balance to AWB (menu -> W.Balance).

Try to adjust the color (usually has options like sepia, cyan, black and white normal, etc).

If these fail a lot of cameras have a reset to factory settings.

If none of these suggestions work, its probably the image sensor.

Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks!

Hello

First, if the camera turns on and the lens extends properly, toggle your "display" button until the screen image returns. (you can turn the display off via this button and is most likely the issue).

Otherwise, it would indicate a greater issue that would require the camera to be sent in for service.

The issue is due to the data cable getting damaged due to the way of packing it inside the camera casing. The signal carrying traces on the edge of the felxible cable is getting damaged. Once the camera is opened and the cable is repositioned properly/replaced will solve this issue.

1. lens cap. had to say it, you know that! i assume it's off.
2. settings. once i had my lumix set on a certain white balance (dial, manual, menus) , and it let in so much light that all my shots turned out completely white ( i wasnt reviewing the pictures at the time). make sure you didnt put your camera on some setting that's blocking out light. try automatic by turning the dial.
3. try to reset your camera to factory settings using the menu system. sometime you get lost on the menu system and change an important finction that completely changes what you get when you take pictures.

When using the zoom button the cam stops working

This suggests the zoom motor has failed. As you only purchased it 2 weeks ago - it should be replaced under warranty
