Yeah, the same with what harshit999 said, you probably need to use the Windows XP CD and boot from it, select "Install Windows", it'll bring up that Terms & Agreements document, and it'll detect your Windows, hit repair, grab a smoke or something, and it'll probablt fix it. If you still have the problem, reformat and install Windows again.

First question is why are you restoring it at an earlier time? is your OS corrupted? or are you infected by a virus? if your OS is corrupted try to repair it by using your OS installer, boot from your installer cd and choose repair. if you are infected try to run an antivirus program.

When i log off it goes into a restore program and takes at least half an hour to start

Try this, open Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Preformance, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, use this procedure to adjust power options: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms700612(v=vs.85).aspx ALSO, always shut down from the "Start" button, select "Shut down", if you use the on/off button the software "ID's" it as a crash, hence the startup error messages. Two more things, Open MSCONFIG select Normal Startup, use this procedure: http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_vista.html , Run a SCAN FILE from CMD prompt using this procedure: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 Post results.

Just bought an acer aspire ax1200-b1581a.it worked fine for a few days now it will pop up there was a problem with the internet and shut the itnernet down,it started out going blue screen and at the bottom...

I think the problem is related to virus. Try restoring your PC to an earlier date 9 a date when it worked fine). You do this from Start-> Programs -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time and Click Next. A date calender will appear, select the preferred date and click Next twice. The system will automatically restart when restoration is done.

If u are not abe to run System Restore then you need to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during booting and selecting Safe Mode from the menu that appears. In safe mode you will be asked a question, you have to select no, and system restore will start

If restoring your pc does not solve the problem then you may need to reinstall your OS.

ø Select restore my computer to an earlier time, and click Next. The Select a Restore Point window opens.
ø Select a bolded date and a restore point, and then click next
ø (Note: - You need to choose a Date before the installation of Norton)
ø Click OK if a pop-up window about closing programs appears. The Confirm Restore Point Selection window opens.
ø Click Next. The computer should shut down and turn back on automatically after the restoration completes. The Restoration Complete window appears.
ø Click OK. The computer has now been restored to a previous time when it worked correctly.
ø (Note: - If an error message appears saying that the computer cannot be restored to the point you selected, try a different restore point)
After the System Restore is complete, and the computer starts successfully, update the computer software as follows: - 1). Update the system virus definitions. 2).Get the latest critical system updates using Microsoft's Windows update.
Once all this is Done you Need to Download and Install Norton Again.
