Question about LG RH266 Recorder
Hi, I am trying to record from the HDD to DVD. When I insert a new blank DVD all seems ok, the disk appears to initialise. However when I try using the Disc Format menu I do not have the option to format the disk (it is greyed out and unaccessible, I can only access the PBC and DivX options).
If I try 'Dubbing' I get a message saying 'Insert a new disc'.
I have tried both Imation DVD+Rewritable RW disks and Kodac DVD+R discs?

All you have to do is select dvd on the remote (at the top). Then it should do it automatically. If it doesn't, go to menu, then setup, disk, format. That does the job.

Been checking out my m/c and found that there are many -r & -rw discs the m/c does not recognise which gives rise to this problem. However the m/c does recognise VERBATIM discs and I have been able to record and dub to them with no problems.

The DVD needs to initialise the disk first. Come out of the HDD dubbing menu and press DVD on the remote. The blank recordable disk should be recognised and you should see Initialise disk? on the screen. Press Start and hey presto, you can now dub from the HDD Movie dubbing menu (as per the manual instructions).
