DVD player won't work for Panasonic SC-HT680

I had my Panasonic SC-HT680 for several years and it plays perfectly. Just last month, my dvd player started to act up. Sometimes it would play dvd's, and now it plays cd's fine, but the dvd player dosen't work after inserting a movie. When reading dvd moive, four yellow lights come on and the movie begins, and now I get only 2 lights, then this message appears

"This type of disc cannot be played. Please insert a different". I have tried movies I bought and rented movies and I get the same result. What can I do to solve this problem? Do you have any ideas? I love my stereo. Thanks for your time

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

CD/DVD PROBLEM ON A PANASONIC SA-HT680

Check your "Setup Menu" with NO DVD in the player. Could be the wrong format, should be 720p or 1080i or 1080p. Are you using Component cables to your TV or HDMI? if Component, check your connections, it is color coded but may be hard to see with most installations. Use a flashlight to make sure colors are correct Red to Red, Blue to Blue and Green to Green. Sounds like you've got cables mixed up. It happens to the best of us! and I do it for a living! Hope this helps

Dvd will not play in dvd player but will play in computer

I don't know if I really find the solution but several burned discs I decide to burn a poor disc 8x instead my emtec 16x and voil'a the disc go on my SC-HT70. I suppose it doesn't support new type of discs with higher velocities even burned at a lower velocity (4x). If any one have another solution please let me know.
Also I know we can upgrade firmware of Panasonic but it can only be done by a technician and it's very expensive.
Thks

CONNECTING THE PANASONIC SC HT680 TO A SONY TRINITRON COLOR TV AND CABLE BOX

audio/video OUT from the cable box to the aux IN on the panasonic right? So you can see the output from the cable box but only sound from dvd. Are you changing the input on the tv when you go from watching the cable box to watching the DVD? the panasonic handles audio, but the video from each goes to two different inputs on the sony. I hope none of this sounds condescending.

Disc tray 1 is blinking with 2 ovals around it, tray not in right Panasonic SA-HT680

I had a jammed disc that was causing this same error message. To remove the jammed disc, remove the top by removing the screws and then you can remove the stuck/jammed discs. For the Panasonic SC-PT750 there are 7 screws, three small silver ones on the back, then 4 black ones, two on each side, all philips head. Once you have that off, gently pry it off starting from the back, the cover is actually hinged into the front plastic piece of the player.
