How do I fix my ups back-up with low voltage output, 175 volts only instead of 220 volts?

I would suggest that the battery is exhausted and needed to be replaced.

I have APC SUA1000I and attach two batteries par battery 90Amps but battery is not of APC company and i have calibrate the ups but its not working the battery gives 25mints backup hardly and the software...

You need to make sure that you are installing (2) 12 volt, 12 amp hour batteries... as long as they meet those specs then the battery manufacturer matters little. I recommend CSB, MK, or Werker batteries. You can find them for 56USD.

is that 165 Volts AC or DC? Try to reset the logic. Unplug the UPS from the wall and disconnect the batteries. Push the "On Button" The LED's may flash. This is resetting the logic. This migh help. This should be 120VAC in and 120VAC out. Please give me an update.

When i connect 4 batteries in series for a total of 55 Volt, the ups tells me there is a problem with my battery. is the ups overcharging my battery or are the batteries overcharged. i bought them with...

I think UPS' are supposed to run on 12 volt batteries. You must connect them in parallel and not ie series as you are doing now. Connect all the Positives together and all the negatives together to give 12 volts and four times the amperage of each battery for longer backup. With series connection you may burn the system. Please check the manual that came with the UPS.

Test/Troubleshoot APC Battery Backups

All batteries, old or not really used hard should be replaced every three years. If not they turn to acid, or blister. If bllister does occur, throw the unit away, most likely the inverter will not last very long after the new batter is installed.

To know if your UPS is working right even if the battery might check out, use a volt meter to see if the battery is 12.5 to Volts. If you have a ceramic 10 ohm resister, you can alagator clip it across the + & - and it should hold the voltage above 12V DC, but if it sinks real quick below that...that battery is done.

To check to see if your UPS is OK. Plug it in use the volt meter to check the output voltage. Should be 115V-120V AC, unplug the plug from the wall socket and the readings should be hovering around 118V AC. That means your Inverter is still working. If the UPS dies, two things, go check the battery, or the inverter is toast-Throw away the Unit buy another. May I suggest that since CPU's are getting more advanced and faster and new computer power supplies are getting bigger go bigger on the UPS. Start out with a 1000VA or standardize on 1500VA. They really are not too expensive like they use to be.

APC back UPS 400 fails to give back up

I have the same problem with an apc smart-ups VS 650.

New batteries - charge in batteries is good (also tested under load).

When AC power fails, no power is supplied to PC connectors by the UPS.

UPS self test works fine. UPS does not report any problems via software - Power Management under Windows XP.
