Question about Whirlpool AWM5145/2 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

The machine gets stuck mid cycle

When washing on any program, the machine sometimes stops between 10 and A. A little turn of the control knob normally gets it going but it can then sometimes stop between A and B. Again a little turn gets it going! It fills and drains correctly, although the drain pump is a little noisy! The heaters are working! The rubber pressure switch hose from the drum to the switch is fitted correctly and it is not damaged.

HI, I believe I have a similar problem......our machine seems to stick mid-cycle whilst emitting a low grumbling noise. There doesnt seem to be a set place that it stops, and sometimes, if left for a while, it will complete the cycle.

Is this likely to be a timing issue too? If so, is it easily resolved or am I looking at a new washing machine?

    Thanks

I have the same problem - a little different - the washer is ok for 2 loads - the 3rd load normally stops in the middle of the cycle- I replaced the electronics control panel- cost me over $200.00 - I have the same issue.-

    LITTLE HISTORY:

This washer was only about 2 years old.. The first year I had same issue - luckily there was still warranty.,,, so whirlpool replaced it with new one - which I have it right now- but no more warranty... any help is appreciated.

If the inlet valve and the pump work correctly then it must be a problem with the timer control.

Here you find a replacement for the timer control assembly, just enter the model number.

Same here, free diagrams, and you can buy parts, enter the model number.

Here instead you find repairing tips : What is wrong with your Washing Machine?.

Washer stops during normal wash cycle for a minute or more, and then continues. Would replacing the timer fix it?

If it actually goes on and finishes the cycle and that really bothers you replace it. If not leave it alone and allow a little more time to complete its cycle. The lid switch only keeps the spin cycle from going with the top open.

Just got washing machine...its used. However it stops mid cycle and is full of water. I have to stop it and turn the knob to a different setting (like from normal to permpress) and sometimes it will...

If it just stops in one of the cycles such as regular, it points to the timer being defective. Have you tried to complete a cycle in say, perma press pr delicate? If it works ok in the different cycles except one, it's most likely the timer.

Ariston A1635 Margherita Control knob spinning

According to the instruction book - it appears the machine has been stopped mid cycle then re-started.
Switch machine off, turn control knob to a solid circle symbol (they are after every set cycle). Switch machine back on and lights will flash and program is reset. You can then select wash cycle as normal.

Top load washer when you start cycle no water and it starts to agitate does it on all cycles

Hi, It could be faulty timer, the knob you turn to select cycles(programs) or faulty water level switch, the knob or button you select the water temperature, or size of water level, it depends on brand of machine. check water level switch by lifting top of machine, you will see tub, look at back you will see a small tube coming from wiring harness, where controls are, that tube comes from switch to connection on side of tub, remove tube from tub connection, wipe it, put in your mouth and blow air into it, you should hear a click sound whenever you blow into it, sometimes could get stuck, connect tube back to tub, manually fill with water, just a little above half, then start machine from the beginning of any program, let it complete to the end, then try it normally to see if it does the same thing, if it does, you will need a mechanic to check timer and pressure switch. good luck.
