What you need to do is go the the control panel, performance and maintenance, administrative tools, then double click on "services".

scroll down the list to " print spooler. single click on it to highlight, then on the left click "stop"

once it is stopped, again on the left, click start.

This should clear out any print documents that became "stuck" in the print queue.

Many thanks. This even works 4 years later on my HP4650c. With appropriate modifications for finding the printer spooler in the current control panel layout.

Print jobs hang, won't finish, locks up printer

you must check print Queue, where's the printer one by one give access to print out. On there have status Queue, if any status Like "Stop, problem, etc" you must delete this Queue.

Cancelled a job and it stays in queue

Cancel all the documents in the print queue, (just do it whether they are actually deleted or not), press "cancel" on button the printer and restart your system and also the printer. If possible, please leave the printer switched off for few minutes and don't forget to use the "Power" button to turn if off or on. This will help your printer to restart new print job, all the jobs on the print queue will be deleted/cleared. Good luck, Thanks for using FixYa.

The printer will not print and also says there is no paper in the loader when there is

Hello.

If there are no jobs in the queue, be certain that your USB cable is snug.

If still a problem and there are jobs in the print queue, go to Printers and Faxes and delete your printer icon.

Disconnect the USB cable.

Restart your computer.

Reconnect the USB to your computer.

Your computer should see your printer. Install the printer driver.

Hope that helps.

Printer connected to computer and all is well but when i click on print it tells me that the document needed to be printed is pending and it just never gets printed

You probably have a print job stuck in the queue. Open Control Panel, then Printers and Faxes. Right click on your printer and click OPEN. Highlight the top entry and open Document menu and choose Cancel. You may need to turn off printer and then unplug it for 15 seconds to clear any faults in printer memory. Plug back in, turn on, then try.

Look under you printers and see if the printer is online. If it is. Look if you do not have any print jobs in queue and delete them. Try again.
