My printing q shows an item which it says it has been deleting for 5 days nothing can get through...how do i rid it from my q

What you need to do is go to "start", "control panel", "performance and maintenance", "administrative tools", then double click on "services".

(if you are using the classic view, then simply "start", "control panel", "administrative tools")

scroll down the list to " print spooler. single click on it to highlight, then on the left click "stop"

once it is stopped, again on the left, click start.

This should clear out any print documents that became "stuck" in the print queue.

When the message "5 documents pending" appears but


Rebooting the computer may help get rid of the print jobs stuck in the queue. If not, follow these instructions carefully:
For Windows
Stop the Print Spooler
  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Go to Administrative Tools
  3. Go to Services
  4. Look for Print Spooler in the items. Double-click on Print Spooler -> click on Stop -> click Ok. Set the Services window aside.
Clear the Spool folder
  1. Go to Start
  2. Type Spool in the Search/Run bar, hit Enter.
  3. Open PRINTERS folder
  4. Delete all the files in the PRINTERS folder. Close the Window
Re-enable the Print Spooler
  1. Go back to the Services window
  2. Double-click on Print Spooler, and click on the Start -> Click on Ok. Close the Services window.

Go to Printers and Faxes and refresh the page. It should clear the print queue now.
For Macintosh
Simply launch Terminal and type cancel -a - That will clear the print queue.

you can do the following steps:

1.Check if the firewall is blocking any printer services

2.Check what port the printer is using (reenable the bi-directional support) and if it's on online mode

3.Disable all the firewalls

4.Uninstall the printer driver and software, then unplug the usb cable of the printer.

5.Delete any items under the ff keys:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet001\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2

if your printer is giving you an error msg saying printer communication not available.

You can try these steps:

Printer will not print


Restart the PC. If that doesn't help, delete the printer and reinstall it. This happens quite often for some printers.

My Xerox Phaser 7300DN Laser Printer has lost its IP address. I recently got rid of XP service pack 3, but the day after that my network WAS working well. and I printed quite a volume of stuff. It was only...


unplug and shut down everything for 5 min...... then plug in/reboot in this order....

PC
Router
Printer

Wait until each has started up fully before going to the next item.

When I cancel the printer does not print other items that have been scanned. it gets hung up.


Hi,
when you print an article on-line. it goes into your printers memory. 10 pages for instance. if you cancel after 5 pages. the printers RAM ( memory ) stores the remaining pages to be printed. the only way to do this, is to cancel printing. then go into printer program. and delete the queue, or pending items, before exiting windows.

Can not clear the print que


Follow these steps to resolve the issue. Step one: Delete the print queue Open Print Setup Utility located in the Application/Utilities folder. Double-click your printer in the printer list to open the print queue. Click the Stop Jobs icon. Click to select the document, and then click the Delete icon. Repeat the steps for all the jobs in the print queue. When the print queue is empty, click the Start Jobs icon. A message appears: No Jobs Printing . This indicates that the queue is clear. When you have cleared the queue, retry your print job. If the procedure has not resolved the issue, repeat steps 3 and 4. If the issue still persists, continue to the next step. Step two: Remove the printer from the list Open Print Setup Utility , located in the Application/Utilities folder. Click to select the Photosmart icon. Click the red X to delete the printer from your system. Close all open windows, and restart your computer. Step three: Add the printer to the list Open Print Setup Utility located in the Application/Utilities folder. Click Add . Select the printer that you want to add, and click the Add button. After a few seconds, your printer appears in the printer list, and your printer is ready to print.
