Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me"

Honestly, I can not understand your problem. Nonetheless, I will assume that your concern is that the CD ROM ejects when you click on the drive. If you are using Microsoft Vista, then this is a common issue.

To my knowledge, Vista will only open your CD-RW and DVD RW drive automatically if there is no disc been inserted yet. If you want to disable this feature, there is a trick to disable or turn off Windows Vista auto eject function, by disabling Windows Vista built-in CD/DVD burning feature, which does not affect ability to burn disc using third party program or burning engine such as Nero. This was originally discussed here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Dvd or cd are not open

I think you are saying that the CD/DVD drive drawer will not open?
Most drives have a tiny hole above the drawer. You need to straighten out a paper clip ,then poke it into the hole. This should release the drawer catch and you can open it by gently pulling. It may be jammed as a disk was not properly seated inside.
Check on My Computer that your computer recognises the CD/DVD player is there.

Hi! Like a year ago I bought an LG HT762TZ theater but it did not play any DVD or CD even if it was original so I thought it was the zone and I found some hacking codes and and changed some in my system...

Click start control panel administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver

or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall

if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone. or

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard or
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall your DVD/CD then reinstall the driver for this device

hope this helps you

There is a disc stuck inside. I tried getting it out but now it wont even open up. It just makes a really loud clicking noise and then shuts off. Please help

There is a tiny hole in the front of the drive precisely to overcome this problem. Carefully straighten out a paper clip to give you about 1-half inches. Carefully introduce it into the hole and gently push until you feel resistance. This means the paper clip has touched the special release mechanism inside.
Pushing in a little further, you will find a little further resistance and then the drive will start to open a little. Keep pushing until about half an inch of the drive is exposed which will allow you to very carefully open the drive manually. It is perfectly safe to do this and is an accepted method with all 'stand-alone' CD/DVD ROM drives sold for installing in computers. Most CD/DVD ROM Drive manufacturers actually include a special, 3 inch long tool about the same dimension as a paper clip when you but a new drive.
Be careful and don't rush it.
Follow this procedure with the equipment completely switched OFF.
When you switch ON again, the drive will automatically close itself and you will be 'back in business'.
Good Luck

Our KEF Kit100 stopped playing discs, both music and dvds. It says READ for a long time then says NO DISC. Any suggestions?

Your DVD drive is bad. Part number 4111-1121-0 .You might still be able to order a replacement from
Encompass Parts. $95 log in under guest. No tech account needed. Simple to replace. Just like a cd/dvd ROM drive for a computer. Might also check out ebay. Main unit arount $50. Subs usualy have problems,so they sell the main unit.

Problem:
I also have a bose Lifestyle 48, and the same problem has happen to me where the DVD player would not open,
Solution:
Unplug the unit, Wait a few seconds, after plugging the power back in, immediately hit eject so that the player does not have time to spin up and try to read the disc again

Bose 321 DVD drive failure

Found another help site similar to FixYa where a person had posted that they successfully replaced their failed DVD ROM drive in their BOSE 3-2-1 Series I unit with a later model Toshiba SD-M1712 drive. There are 2 plastic trim bits and the metal DVD drive unit cover that need to be swapped between the old drive and the new PC type drive to complete the repair. I located and ordered a new drive and spent last evening removing the old drive from the BOSE. To remove the old drive all that is really necessary is to remove the lid from the BOSE unit and pop off a black steel holdown assembly across the top of the failed drive. Once that is done the old just drive lifts out and the replacement is virtually the same as swapping out a drive in your PC. I am awaiting arrival of the replacement OEM drive ($25) from some place in Texas. This just may work. BOSE wants hundreds of bucks and several weeks to repair their crappy unit. I will never purchase BOSE again. I had to also purchase a power supply in years past for this very lightly used unit and that was $300 and a lot of aggravation using the BOSE repair system. I have trouble just throwing this unit away because we spent $1000 hard earned $'s to buy the "best". I was certainly fooled. If this doesn't work I'm only out $25.

Cd/dvd player noise

Something could have been misalligne or not sitting properly in the DVD rom...if the grinding sound is mechanical. The only possible way to cure this is to open the DVD ROM and service its mechanism. Observe DISC that is played if there's any sign of scratches...sign tells that its touching or rubbing something.
Good Luck.
