Acer ax3400g does not boot and light blinks twice

Either your memory, lcd monitor or the video card is bad.

Check the Memory by steps below:

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.
I'm thinking that it might be your monitor because if the monitor was working and the video card was bad, you would get a No Signal message appearing on your screen.
Try another monitor on the computer. Borrow a monitor from a friend, family member, neighbor or co-worker and see if it works. If it does then your monitor needs to be replaced. If it does not work, then you've got a video card issue.

Check Video Card below:
If nothing ever posts to the screen then more than likely your video card is bad. Go purchase a Video Card that will fit into one of your open PCI Slots.

My compaq sr 1230 nx won't start

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problemis with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips.

Either your video card is bad or you might have some bad memory. Does the video ever post anything on the screen when you press the power button to start the computer?

It really sounds like a memory problem.

Do you see any blinking lights or hear any beeps? Beeps and Blinking lights tells the technician what is going on with the computer.

While you have the case open check for dust around the fans and inside the computer. If dust is clogging the fans, vents and inside the computer blow it out with a can of compressed air.
This is a sign of overheating also, but I'm assuming that this is happening after your computer has been sitting around idle for a while then you turn it on and it shuts off in two seconds, so it couldn't be running hot.

The monitor has no input signal, tried another monitor and had the same result

This could be an issue of a video card gone bad. I have experienced the same issue firsthand. This could also mean that no RAM is installed. If you have been using this computer previously, the second option is probably not even an option.

If you have another computer available, please try plugging the monitor in to that machine to test. If it works, your Video Card is more than likely toast.

But not to worry, you should be able to find a new card for that machine. I believe it will be a PCI Video Card, which may run you anywhere from $20-$100 depending on what you purchase. Please consult with eMachines before ordering a new card. Some will not work with your machine.

I hope this helps you out. Have a great day and please don't hesitate to ask any further questions regarding this issue.

Gateway 838GM Video Card?

Hi i'm Rain.
Ok lets put it this way. You get what you pay for. If you want quality video you have to be willing to pay the asking price. Yes you can find it cheaper ,..But look at the word cheaper.
Yes the Express x16 HDCP will work with your system .
If i had to solve the issue i would have said get the PCIE.
All you are looking for is a video card with high speed .
I hope i have been helpful in this problem.
