Re: Emerson PD6810 CD Boombox
Power problem with transformer or faulty function selector switch or lock up , but try to see to make sure the selector switch is not on cd , if that don't work then unplug for a little while then try, if that don't work it will have to be tested to determine the problem

if this is just a player and not a radio/cassette/player.
make sure you have the button on cd and place a cd label up in it and see if you see the number of tracks if you do then hit play and you should hear the cd moving. If not put in a cd hit play and then open the cover to see if it turns at all if not then see if you can move the eye to the middle. this should solve it.
maybe the amplifier inside is failing if you turn it all the way up for a second and it comes on then it is the amp but if you wiggle the vol and it comes on the its the vol switch
how did the speakers sound ?
Unfortanatly, this is why Emerson only warranties these for 90 days, but I have heard and recommend that you contact Emerson and tell them you did not think that their product would break down after a mear 90 days and a lot of times, they will send you a new one, if you bug them enough. There should be a contact number in the owners manual. If you do not have the owners manual, go to: http://www.emersonelectronics.ca/emerson/en/home/ There is a contact link there. By the way, the problem you are having is a bad spindle motor or the laser optics are bad. Have you tried to clean the small laser lens off yet with a cotton swap and some good 90% or better alcohol? Good Luck
