Question about Olympus D-595 Zoom Digital Camera

Open Question

Olympus MJU: 410

Hi,

I have an old Olympus MJU:410 I ahve a range of XD Pic cards but the one that is causing me grief is my 512mb. It is a genuine Olympus card old style which I have been told are no longer available it is not type M or type H.
When inserted into the camera displays the following: "CARD ERROR." I have been into the menu and when it asks me to FORMAT, I say YES, and it says Caution Erasing All, I say YES again and it just displays CARD ERROR on the screen??
I have had the card formatted in a Fuji camera and this still did not resolve the problem, any assistance in how I can format this card would be greatly appreciated. ( I do not have a card reader either)
Thanks
Trudi

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: xD card Error

Hi all. I too had the same problem and after trying all the possible solutions (aperase, smprep, smformat, etc.) I finally found one working application that helped me solve this problem. Download Flashdoctor from here http://driver.zol.com.cn/detail/10/95395.shtml

Insert your xd card into a card reader connected to your PC then run Flashdoctor. Format your xd card using this tool then insert it back in your camera, voila! I formatted it again through the camera just to be sure, now everything's working fine. Hope this helps as it helped me. Good day!

SOURCE: Olympus c350, Memory card

Hi!

According to the user manual - the maximum size of memory card it can support is up to 256MB only. However, many users claim that it can support up to 512MB.

SOURCE: Olympus 2G xd M card with pictures - error message "clean card" or format

Just had the same issue today. The Olympus Helpdesk told me that the fact I had printed one of the picture from the Xd card in directly inserting the card in the printer slot for Xd created the problem....
The guy from the Helpdesk strongly recommended to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer exclusively using the USB cable of the camera.
In the end I have saved all my 505 pictures in using the Smart Recovery from PC Inspector but why the hell this problem only happens with Xd cards?

It's possible that your camera, being 7 years old, was never designed for a 2gb card. You can find cards of all sizes at amazon.com

How do i get my Olympus D560 to use an xD M+ memory card? I keep getting card error message.

Hi,

The Olympus compatibility chart on their website says that your camera works with type M and M+ sizes 256MB - 512MB.
The chart also says 256MB - 512MB for type H and 16MB - 512MB for standard xD cards.
It looks like the largest size xD you can use of any type is 512MB.
The D560 is quite an early digital camera and it is not unusual to have card size limitations.

How to activate panorama?

Panorama shooting lets you create a panoramic picture, using the OLYMPUS
Master software from the provided CD-ROM. An Olympus xD-Picture Card is required for Panorama shooting. If the card is a Fuji xD card then the panorama feature would be disabled to you.

Xd card type

A Fuji card can be used in the camera; the only function that will be disabled is if you wish to take panorama shots with the camera. Panorama in the Olympus cameras is proprietary therefore in order to shoot panorama shots Olympus requires that you specifically use their xD picture card. Otherwise the Fuji card will work just fine.

Card errro

Sometimes the card can get a little bit of dirt on it which has caused this error message to appear on my camera.  Just take the card out and carefully wipe the metal contacts at the bottom with mentholated sprits or another cleaner.  This did the trick for me.
It could be a card problem in which case I would see if the same message comes up when a different card is placed in.
hope this helps
