it sounds like the USB connector on the face place of the radio has a cracked solder joint. i suggest taking it to a person that know how to solder small objects. your Kenwood has a one year manufacturer warranty it could be some thing to check in to.

I hit a bump and now my stereo is flashing protect. I have reset it and unplugged and plugged it. Idk what happened! HELP!

A likely cause would be a loose wire such as the power connectors that belong to the radio. check the full connection that is connected to the vehicle battery.

My radio won't do anything, and it constantly flashes protect on the screen. What does that mean?

It means you either have a short in your speakers or speaker wires, a bad speaker or the output IC may be bad.

try checking your speakers and speaker wires for grounds and/or shorts. make sure all your speakers are good.. if that all checks out, you may have a bad output ic inside the deck itself.

I turned on my radio and Protect is flashing on the screen. Nothing that I do makes this go away. Please help.

you have a crossed wire problem that will need to be fixed before the protect will drop off and allow you to use the stereo.

The kenworth radio has a button flashing saying protected and wont make a sound

Your unit is either locked with a code, or there is a short. If you have removed power before this problem happened then your radio is locked and you will have to call the manufacturer, if not then your speakers are shorted.

MY KDC-MP3342U SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING! IT JUST KEEPS FLASHING ...'PROTECT'! REPEATEDLY! HELP!

Protect only comes on when an RCA is grounding out, speaker is blown or the speaker wires are shorting out. Check all your wiring on the head unit and see if all are insulated with tape or better and if there's an exposed wire, tape it up. Make sure that all connections are secured. Then double-check your fuses. Check all of your speakers and their wiring because going into protect mode is the units way of saying you have a problem with your speakers or wiring.

If your speakers and wiring all check out, disconnect your radio wiring harness, and then reconnect the harness. This resets your radio, and your radio should be working again.

If you need to enter the security code, try the default unlock code of 5227.

You can also try to reset your code if the default doesn't work. Try 'KCAR' or '3051'.

My car radio keeps flashing protect do i need a code

don't know what kind of radio you have, but usually if a radio is flashing protect it is because you have a short in the wiring, a bad speaker or a bad output ic.
