Water despenser water does not flow....ice works fine...new filter installed...still no flow

we have the same problem, new filter in, the ice works, not water to the door. we have taken off the bottom portion of the front of the fridge, and taken apart the hose 'connector' and can see that the water gets to that point (e.g. we press the water button on the door and it comes out), but when we connect the tubes back together, it rarely works (e.g. once every couple of months).
    our model is GSH22JSRE SS

Hi there,

check to see if you have a leak in the water line. the line runs from the wall to the icemaker. do you have any leaks on the inside of the door? any frost build up? im assuming that you have a side by side fridge with an icemaker.

My water dispenser is INOP.when lever is pressed only a hum can be heard but no water. Removed water filter and water shoots out inlet. Attempted to blow on inlet portion on water filter and no air flowed...

The water line may be plugged or frozen.
Remove all the food and put in another freezer and shut the freezer off for 24 hrs and see if it works then. Is there ice cubes stuck in the despenser ? If so clear them out. May be the jammed ice cube my not let any water through.

Ge mod GSS22GRC SS the ice maker works fine but all of a sudden the water despenser does not flow....I since changed the filter that did not help

Hi,

Start by checking the water supply going to the fridge:

  • Turn off the water at the saddle tap valve.
  • Disconnect the water line in the back of the fridge. Place the disconnected end in a bucket and open the saddle tap valve.
  • Observe the flow rate–water should shoot out vigorously. If not, then the saddle tap valve is probably gunked up with sediment and you’ll need to replace it.

No water flow to ice maker or water despenser...water lines are clear the filter is clear..could problem be water inlet valve ( dual valve controls water flow to ice maker and water despenser.

Its odd that both parts of the valve went bad at the same time. Personally sounds as if your water filter is clogged up and needs to be changed. I would do that first, before trying to change the water valve itself.

No Ice is being made. Water is being despensed at the door but it seems that no water is going to the ice maker. Have good water flow to the pump.

Is the ice maker turned on?  The on/off switch is located on the top right side of the freezer compartment.  The manual says that there is a sensor beam that passes from one freezer wall to the other to shut off ice making when the bin is full.  Check to make sure nothing Is blocking that signal beam and that the bin is correctly installed.

Water despenser

The water dispensing valve may not be functioning, if the valve buzzes or hums when the water dispenser is pressed the valve may be mechanically deficient, if there is no sound whatsoever the switch for the dispenser, the dispensing valve coil or its electrical connections may have failed.
