Question about GE JVM2050 Microwave Oven
I have an 2007 Emerson 900 Watt Microwave Oven. Model no. MW8781SB Microwave and recently it started to have a noise in the fan when I would heat up something in the mic. Next thing I knew it wasn't Heating up at all. The lights turn and everything seems to be fine but after the beep when you take your item out it's cold so it's not heating up...Can you please help me. Someone told me that it may be the H.V Capacitor but I would like a second opinion. If it is the H.V Capacitor do you know about how much it would cost?
If it is running, including plate rotating, and there is no heat, then you need to replace either a part called magnetron, or one called high voltage capacitor (HV cap.).
The magnetron is located behind a protective plate on the internal side of the owen. The high voltage capacito is in microwave circuits behind the main wall.
Both parts are not expensive.
Here you see a general diagram, and you can also buy the parts. Browse with the mouse on top of the picture to see the magnetron.
Here you can also get parts and diagrams.

If you want to call atechnician you can use the number listed on the owner manual.
