Put those addresses or domains on 'block'.

Be careful who you give your email addresses, too.

My Messenger is frozen right now, but try to do it through Yahoo! Email. Once you are signed in go to Mail Options (it's on the upper right-hand side) open that and put any email addresses you want to block there, you can put up to 500 different addresses on block.

Try that and see if it blocks them on Messenger, as well.

If I get my Messenger issue resolved I'll check there, as well.

    Good luck.

Sorry, but I actually got your message twice and the second time I thought about something.

If they are spam messages that come when you are offline, they should appear in a Messenger box on the left hand side of your desktop. All you have to do is click on the address and look above it, in the tool bar there will be a line that says "Report this message as Spam" click on that for each address.

As far as closing your account, just abandon it, and open a new one. Once you have opened a new one you can import all of the email addresses in your address book and never open the old one again.

After three months of inactivity Yahoo! deletes the account permanently.

    Good luck,

I appear offline in yahoo messenger even If I am online

Yahoo! Messenger gives you the option to make your status appear "online", "busy" or "offline." If you want to appear online all the time you must set the messenger to do so, especially if you changed it to a different setting at any point.

1.Sign On
In order to set your instant messenger to "online" you must sign in to your account. You should use your Yahoo! email address and password to sign in to the account. If you want the program to sign you in automatically, you must check these options on the initial sign in box.

2. Settings
Click your name at the top of the "friends" list and change your setting to "available." Available means you are online at your computer and ready to chat.

3. Changes
No changes are made to your status unless you sign off (which you will then appear offline) or if you physically change your setting. It does not change every time you sign off.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thanks

Step by step on how to use the messenger

To use Yahoo Messenger, you first need to download it. Here is the link to the latest version which is Yahoo Messenger 10:

If you want to use Chat Rooms, these are available on the US version of Yahoo Messenger 10. Just click on the US flag at the bottom of the download page.

Once downloaded, this is how you can add your contacts and friends:

Click on "Contacts" in the top of the "Messenger" window pane.

Click on "Add a Contact".

You will then see two options. Either you can add somebody from their Messenger ID or email address or you can choose a contact from your address book.

For each contact you add, click on "Next" to take you through the process. An invitation will then be sent to each one you have added. Their names will appear on your Messenger List with a message "Add Request Pending". This message will disappear when the invitation is accepted.

You right click on the contact that you want to IM and then click on " Instant Message". Another box will open up for you to type your message in. When you have finished typing your message, hit the "Send" button on the right of the box you are typing in.

If the person is showing as "online", he will get the message straight away. If the person if "offline", he will receive the message as soon as he signs into Yahoo Messenger.

To use email chat, you need to sign yourself in on your email page. Next to your username, you will see a status which may be set to "Offline" at the moment. Click on it and change your status to "Available".

Cannot view offline message

When you log into Yahoo! Messenger, a little box will pop up with all the messages that were sent to you when you were offline. If you didn't have any offline messages, the box will not appear. You can choose to respond to the messages or just to close the box. However, once you do that, Yahoo! will give you a message that says the messages will automatically be deleted. There isn't an option that allows you to save them, so once the box is closed, that's pretty much the end of seeing those messages.

1) Clear your browser first
Download 'ccleaner' and run it through a couple of times, using the factory settings and the 'Run Cleaner' control until 0 bytes are seen to be cleaned following a scan
Run the 'Registry' from the left hand toolbar but 'Save' any changes after opting to 'repair' errors.

I can log in to my yahoo messenger but i cant read the messages of my friend. its all clear. please help

Do you mean offline messages? First check if anybody accessing messenger with your log in information, Means anybody knows your ID and Password...Change the password once and try then..Remember that once you logged into messenger mode through email/messenger client any offline message you received while you were offline, considered as checked/read, so after log out those message will be again if you login you will not able to see previous offline message. thats all ...thanks for being with us...Good luck

Finding a lost email address

If you have chatted before, or you have recieved an offline messages before from that can access the messages by viewing it from the message archive in your Yahoo Messenger..then you would know the ID/username of that person. If you didn't have any messages from that person...I think it you can also search him/her if you type in search by name...and what you're searching ( ID or Email address).....
