ADMINISRTERPASSWORD DONT EVER REMEBERING ENTERING A PW FOR ADMIN.

You need to login to the user interface of your router usually it's 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1 or 10.0.0.1 you need to hard wire a computer to your new router first open a browser and type one of the ip address on the top, type it on the address bar of your browser enter the admin pw, you did not specify the brand of the router but most router admin username and password is admin / password or just admin without pw or just admin for the pw, once you are logged in look for the network settings there and you can edit or set pw for your network depending on the nerwork type, hope this helps

the DV is a laptop and setting this PW is not easy to fix for sure free

desktops have a jumper for this.

if you hit enter, 3 times and the PC bios shows hint code??
then that means this PC has a backdoor PW reset.
so google that.

there are more kinds of PW on a DV, power on, admin or HDD locked.
nobody can see your screen errors, blind.
On some super old PC, COIN cell removed and Big battery and AC power pack removed, and wait 1 hours, this can reset PW only on super old PCs.

Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL

The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption (security).
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

By lock I assume you mean secure it.
To do so do the following -Plug an Ethernet cable from your computer into one of the ports on the back (not the one labeld WAN) -Verify your default gateway. Open a command prompt by click "start" > run or "windows" button, and type cmd -type ipconfig and remeber the default gateway should be like 192.168.0.1 -open a web browser and enter that number into the address bar -you will be prompted for a user and password. (should be either admin, no password or admin/admin) -Go to the wireless > wireless security tab Select your security Choose WPA2 with PSK - create a strong password alphanumeric - Save and you are now "locked" You will then need to go into Network Connections/Network and Sharing and enter the password you created.

First you need to know the access ADMIN Username and Password for your router?
If you have the access then you can configure your router manually.

Identify what IP address of your gateway.
>Start>CMD>IPCONFIG
(check what IP address you have in gateway. use that ip address to access your router)
example.
>launch internet explorer then type the IP address into the address bar.
>http://192.168.1.1

you will be redirected to a page will it asked for username and password.
then you need to enter the information.
if you dont know the admin un and pw contact your ISP.
but most of the default UN and PW is
Username: admin
Password: admin

once you able to get into the GUI of your router then go to configuration for the PW to lock your network.

0. connect directly to the router
1. access the router http:\\192.168.1.1
2. login: admin / admin
3. go to wireless tab
4. change security to manual (if needed), check wpa and enter a password.
5. write the password on some tape and tape it to the bottom of the router so you dont loose it.
6. connect to the router wirelessly and use the password to connect.

You just need to press RESET button on the back of the router. THis will reset router back to factory settings. then open internet explorer and type in address 192.168.1.1 - press enter key. THis will bring up the login screen for router
Default login and pw are
Login: admin (or maybe Admin)
Pw: admin (or maybe Admin, or blank)
Login and setup router

try password: admin

The Hawking Unit uses http://192.168.1.250 as the default IP, the user name: admin and no password. This should work on any platform.
