Is there a way to block pop up ads on the garmin nuvi 2460LMT?

The pop up ads come on with the power cord in the car which has the traffic antenna built in to it. If the battery is full and you do not need the traffic you can disconnect the power cord and the ads will not appear. I found on my LMT that the traffic is always wrong anyway. Also if you do not click on the ad it will go away in a few minutes. Also if you click on your screen the speed or driving or the + or - then go back it disappears. I guess the free traffic is really not free(the ads pay).
Thanks for using FixYa

I need to calibrate my Garmin Nuvi 1260T. It's been alittle off ever since I got it. I tried holding the power button for 30 seconds and waiting until the calibration screen pops up but nothing pops up. ...

In order to calibrate the screen on the Nuvi 1260T, you need to follow these few simple steps.

- Turn off the device
- Hold the upper-left corner of the screen while turning on the device
- Release the power button when the Garmin screen appears
- Continue to hold the upper-left corner of the touch screen for 30 seconds until a white screen with "Press dot" appears.

This should allow you to calibrate the screen. I hope this helps!

How do i update my Tomtom 3RD Edition (1GB) GPS Systems for free i would appreciate it if you have an answer thanks.

Hi, I was having trouble too and have found the manual for the 3rd edition online

I'm following these instructions:

Installing TomTom HOME
Install TomTom HOME on your computer in the following way.
  • Connect your computer to the Internet and then connect your TomTom ONE to your computer using the USB cable.
  • A pop-up window appears. Select Run TomTom HOME. Click OK and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If the pop-up window does not appear, browse to the TomTom device on your computer and run the file named Install TomTom HOME.
  • TomTom HOME is also available for download from the TomTom website.
  • For more information visit
  • Once installed, TomTom HOME will start automatically whenever you connectyour TomTom to your computer.

Hope this helps, Lynsey

I have a nuvi 205w I bought it used and reset it now I need to enter a pin number I don't know.

Have you tried clearing the user settings which is slightly different to resetting the unit?
I'm assuming that because you havnt got past the password screen yet you dont have any of your own settings on there yet?
Try this:
Hold your finger on the lower-right of the Nuvi screen while you turn the unit on.
Keep your finger pressed until the pop-up screen appears.
Touch YES to clear all user data.
** All original settings will be restored **
*** Any user items that you have saved will be erased ***
I hope that helps..

Cannot see screen but it turns on

Have you tried resetting the unit?

Remove the face cover (GENTLY pry it loose by the fingernail groove directly under the GARMIN logo), press the RESET button, then re-attach front cover... this is covered in the owners manual which is available online at /support /downloads

You might try this... point a bright flashlight at the screen while it's ON, but dark... see if you can see the normal screens, but just dark. If so, you've got a LCD backlight issue. It could the backlight dimmer circuit got damaged somehow, and if a Reset dows not help, sounds like it's repair time.
