Problem with LG LFX25960ST Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator

ER IF

Display reads ER IF. Have tried unplugging to reset but the error message appears back in about a minute. From what I have read,it might be a fan problem?

Er IF
According to our system documentation:
Error Detection Category: Abnormality of BLDC fan motor for ice making.
Error Generation Factors: It is caused when F/B signal isn't over 115 seconds during the BLDC fan motor operating.
Remarks: Poor BLDC motor connection, drive IC and TR

This is what I found when I input the IF code into our system.

ok if unit is under 1 year old call a tech because you might need a new motor fan and new main board . make sure you out let is properly grounded

I have the same problem with the LG 3 door, I replace the same part . It seem to be working, but still have the Er dH on the screen. resets last 5 hours. Any other parts this may be?

    • I took th panel on the inside of the freezer off and there was a huge chunk of ice blocking the fan from moving air internally. Blowdryer on high and approx 20 minutes later fan running and fridge cooling. Yeah, thank you for the help.

er ff means that the control board is not sensing evap fan motor operation this means either a bad fan motor ice in the fan motor or bad control board. you can verify fan operation by opening freezer door and feeling for old air blowing from back of freezer compartment. you will have to push in the light switch to get fan operation.
for corndo that has same problem you actually have a different problem. er dh means the control board is not sensing defrost heater operation. the most common culprit is a bad defrost sensor. message me back if you need instructions for trouble shooting..thx peyton
