Question about Projection Televisions

2 Answers

My Mitsubishi WS-65517 65 inch Rear Projection Television won't change devices or change the tv channel. Every time i push the button it goes to reset mode. Every time I try one of the two things TV locks up then it goes black and the green light on the front panel flashes green for about 60 seconds then goes out. I have tried a manual reset but still the same. I even unplugged from its power source then plugged back in but no luck. TV turns on fine and i can watch my satilite but that is all. Thanks.

Try the hard reset and whack test just to make sure it is not something simple.

But, I suspect the controller IC that handles these functions is out of order! OR, could be something as simple as the voltage regulator that supplies the operating voltage for the IR remote control module is defective.

But, it you may need a tech to get inside and take some measurements to catch the culprit in hand.

Mitsu makes a fine set and this one is worth a few dollars to get it fixed up.

System control IC seems defective in that case.
If you know about tv repair, please get service manual of your tv and order part / board. and if you dont want to do repair yourself, kindly call tv tech person.

Follow the color code green for green, red for red, blue for blue, ignore the yellow wire, also be aware that there is an audio cable that is red also that wire goes into the Right channel audio and the white wire goes to the Left channel audio

65" mitsubishi rear projection tv won't turn

IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off:
On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.

Look for a button on the TV that says 'source'. Push it and wait for a few seconds, if the picture does not come back, push it again and wait a few more seconds. Do this until you have cycled through all of the input sources for your TV.

Tv blinks out when front buttons are pushed. model#ws-65511

If the TV is turning on and working regularly, but power button does not shut down and buttons on TV do not work, then it is a faulty touch control (button) board on TV.

If instead the TV does not even turn on, then tv is on protection mode, in that case it can be any internal fault.

If instead the problem is with remote buttons, then it is either a faulty remote or a faulty IR sensor.

T. V. stuck on one channel showing the device option.

I had same problem and discovered one of the little buttons on the front of the TV was stuck down. Don't know why, unless the maid bumped it hard as we never use them. Anyway, I poked/wiggled a few times at each button and the problem stopped.
