I am using belkin N150. F9J1001v1. WiFi is disconnecting frequently. When I restarting it ,it works again. But 15-30 min again it disconnect. Looks like every time I need to restart the router. advise

1. Try resetting the router. You will have to set it back up after.
2. Update any firmware - go to Belkin's site, or there may be an option in the router's control page/application to check for and apply any updates.
3. The router itself may just be going bad and need replacing. It happens after a while.

Belkin 30e puts out only .38mbps

Check ALL cables, reseat, replace. Contact your ISP for good signal, have a ISP tech analize the signal. If it's a Wireless connection many things will cause a weak signal, interference, distance, firmware update needed, outside interference, bad connections, the device is bad itself. Is the Belkin Secured? Change Channels, update firmware, reset the device. Hi Thanks for taking the time to help if you can. My problem seems to be that I dont know what software to use to download the firmware update program for the router could you give me your suggestions...

You never need to use any software... just connect any one of your computer to the router using an ethernet cable and type http://192.168.2.1 in the internet explorer... It will open the belkin router interface...

On the far left hand side below the "Utilities" you will have an option called "firmware update"...if you look inside that option you will have an option to browse.... click on browse and locate the latest firmware file and update it... Thats it you are done...

The latest firmware has to be downloaded from belkkin support site...

Download the appropriate version of firmware from this link...

Belkin surf n150, each time I connect the router asks me to update is this normal? if not how do I overide this. peter

you have to connect the computer to the router, and log into it's internal interface.
usually that is 192.168.0.1   but the .0.1 mau be 1.1   1.2   2.1   or 0.2  0.3
after you log into the router, look at the settings
there should be a section or box for upgrade/update firmware
see if there is a checkbox there and uncheck update on login
that should take care of your problem

are you running the Cisco VPN client from home, where this Belkin is your gateway and connecting to say your work?
If so, have a look in the settings of the Belkin to see if you can enable VPN Pass-through.

Try disabling some of the firewall functions on the belkin to isolate the issue and turn the rest back on.

If for some reason this model doesn't work even after the above, try changing the VPN client's connection settings, there are only two to choose from... (click modify on your connection entry, go to the Transport tab > then choose from:
IPSec over TCP and IPSec over UDP (port 10000)
