IPhone/Outlook Calendar Synchronization Duplication

I have a problem with my iPhone where the same calendar entry is created on my iPhone calendar multiple times. It has gotten so bad that my iPhone will continuously play the reminder sound for a minute straight as there are so many duplicate calendar entries.

I have an iPhone 3G.

try to press the turn off button and at the same time press the menu button for about 15 second and it should restar your i phone and the reminders.
