If you read one of my previous answers on a dead Cam, I mentioned on board fuses. They are tiny and usually white with a letter on them like "A". Check it with a meter for open circuit, if it has no reading then ther lies the first problem. Second problem is what caused the first problem...could have been moisture. Make sure your battery charger can accept 230v even though it steps down to something like 6.9 or 7.8v
Chargers are quite cheap on ebay etc.

You can get a driver at THIS LINK

It is free to download, and works with various DigiLife cameras (I use it with my DDV-7000).

I had my digilife ddv-1100 for approximately three years and It no longer charges. If I pulg the usb in the light comes on but as soon as I disconnect it it goes right back off. What could be the problem?...

Almost certainly the battery. They don't last forever.

MY DigiLife DDV 7000 uses an NP-60 battery. I found some of these on Amazon by searching for "np-60", and paid about $1.50 each. You can also sometimes find batteries by searching on the Camera's model number.

My camera does not charge the battery from the USB lead. I have to use a separate charger.

How to use digilife DDV 7000 cmcorder as a webcam? can't use the flash of digilife DDV 7000 cmcorder

You have to install a driver to use this camera as a webcam. There is a Windows one posted at:

this site

It is actually for a different model, but works. Once you have installed it, your camera will show up as a source when you use a program that captures webcam pics or video. You will need to connect the camera to your computer with a suitable USB lead.

To turn the flash on and off in still picture mode, you press the right pointing arrow on the round selector switch array. There are two settings, off and auto, so you cannot force it to flash- it will only do it when the camera decides the light is low. The flash does not work when filming video.

Using Digilife cam as a webcam??

You need to go to the manufacturers web site and download the Driver & Software to make it work... Usually after you install a driver,as well as using any software provided, you can use something like AMCAP2 to view it.

Digilife DDV-7300 Camcorder - Battery will not hold charge

Not sure of which model exactly your using, but you may check out the web address below.

It appears to be a Chines manfactured Brand, unfortunately alot of these units appear to suffer from a substandard charging system that leads towards a problem with the battery.

The good news is that many mobile phone batteries are often suitable replacements for these to swap out with. I'm picking its probably around a 4.8v or similar flat type battery and is charged either via computer USB connection or through independant charger. A local camera shop won't be a good bet, the shipping to china may out weigh the cost of replacement. I would suggest hunting for a custom battery manufacturer that can supply a replacement battery and hopefully a charger to suit! :o)

As for the on off switch, also a common flaw in the designs, any local video camera repair shop should be able to assist with that part of it. Hope this helps.
