Sony FD Trinitron Vega 2004 Stanby Flashes TV will not turn on

Stanby button flashes. TV will not turn on. I have tried unplug it and turning it back on and still the same problem. How do I resolve this. We have the 5 flash problem. Worked a few times for a week after it started, but has since failed. Please Help!

I have a sony vega 32" fd trinitron i turn it on and the screen is black in the right corner there is red light that says stand by timer. how do i get thr screen back on?


Ur high voltage is dead or dying.The FBT call the Fly Back Transformer is dead or dying.U can tries unplug the tv about an hour,might get the high voltage back temporally will happen again later.The big block of plastic with the red wire with a cap to ur CRT(tv tube).That ur prob.

prolly u need the "D" board replaced--common to give error code of 5 to 6 flashes--unplug and wait to reset and try again

Timer button blinks but doesn't turn on


There are several faults that can cause this. Shorted diodes in the high voltage, a bad flyback transformer, a shorted CRT driver IC. None of them are very easy to fix.

Sony FD Trinition Wega KV-32HS510 Try to turn tv on -it starts then shuts off -stand by lights keeps flashing. Memory stick light flashes then goes off.

This unit shouldb e flashing a repeated count on the standby light. That count will indicate the circuit in which a problem was detected causig the shutdown. Please post that count and we should be able to provide details on the repair.
