Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Not the blinking green light problem, but maybe close

Sometimes when the set is powered up the green light comes on, but the lamp does not come on (1 out of 5). I unplug it for 10 sec. and try again. Usually lights up & works fine. Sometimes I must unplug a second time. Wondering if this is the same bad cap problems others talk about or is something else? Had a tech look at it. He said it was likely the DM board.

Its most likely the capacitors on the power PWB which is causing the lamp abnormality. The DM would cause the led to blink continuously. There is a repair kit for the power pwb called the V26 power pwb repair kit available at the following link.

If color wheel does not run lamp will not fire----with lamp removed have you looked at the wheel----if not running it will cause almost instant shutdown of lamp and the set.

If the DMD board is bad time for a new set as it is well over 500 .

Replaced the lamp, still wont come on.

1- Did you make sure you have the lamp door on correctly, there's a safety switch that activates and wont let the lamp light for your protection.
2- Put your ear close to the lamp door and listen for a slight hum as soon as you turn it on, it will go in cycles. If you don't, it's going to be the ballast module or the color wheel, both these have to be working to let the lamp light. I suggest you call a service center after that, that's the best thing.
