Question about Pioneer Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Pioneer Pro510HD 53" Pioneer Elite TV purchased in late 11/2001. Not heavily used. The set, working great..suddenly shut down with a snap. Now will not power up. It does have power, red light is on front of set...however cannot get the green power light to come backon and set of course will not work. Any ideas...or service available in the Charlotte, N.C. 28227 area? John Presson 704-545-7808

both may be a little hard to find anymore, the main problem is dead set and that is bad soldering all over the giant power supply board this set uses.

Pioneer Pro Elite Rear Projection TV with Sudden loud pop then shuts down

You may need the power supply board resoldered as I had the same problem. The guy listed below can do it for you as I shipped mine from Illinois to him in California... Piece of cake getting the board out of the back and it's not too fraigile... Just pack in bubble wrap and it will be fine. My TV is now working great.

BUT DON'T DELAY AS SOONER LATER TV WILL NOT RESTART..

I have a Pioneer Pro510HD TV sudenly quit working

a LOT of these have and develop bad solder connections on the Power supply printed circuit board. Follow the power cord inside (unplug set first) and remove the board and examine it for broken or poor solder connections.

I have seen several of these with this problem and I usually just resolder most of the board up and have a working set.

TV keeps shutting off automatically

Since your plasma is less then a year old, I would suggest to contact the manufacturers to get it fix under warranty. If the plasma keeps shutting off by itself, that is not normal and should be repair.

The intermittencies you mention are common on this
series. The PS - power supply - board needs a
virtually complete resolder op, as the solder used in
that run of units was weak and thin. It will not get
better on its own, any more than needed dental work
will.

Send it to me and I will resolder it and send it back.
I have done so on a number of PS boards in this series,
and am running at 100% success on saving the
510/610/710 series of Pioneer Elites when all they need
is the resoldering op. There is a procedure to follow,
so contact me directly.
