JVC TU-DP811RU

D-VHS

I have a JVC HM30000 DVHS VCR. Bought this a few months ago and love it!
Just bought a JVC
TU-DP811RU high def satellite receiver, (actually the Canadian equivalent,
called the 6100 (!)) to receive Bell Expressvu programming.

My problem is there appears to be no way to connect one to the other! The
VCR only accepts firewire as a digital input, and the receiver, (like most)
only has a DVI, (and component) digital outs.

So, currently, can only connect by analog (S-video), and thus only SD
downconverts of HD material.

16:9time dosen't (yet) support this receiver, so has anyone any idea how I
can interconnect these devices. Is there any kind of component or DVI input
device, (presumably with DD optical in) which converts to firewire???

Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted!

I don't think you have any options for HD recording with the JVC satellite
receiver. There is no economical way to convert the DVI output to Firewire.
If you can return the satellite receiver, perhaps you could get another
model that 169Time supports.
