Go to your bios and ENABLE sata.
Then go to your motherboard and connect your drive using the SATA cables on the right port.
See your motherboard chart

The only difference you'll see in the SATA drive is the connector scheme (and the absence of drive jumpers).

The host PC requires a SATA controller with one or more SATA ports, such as the Promise Technology SATA150 TX2plus, which combines two independent SATA ports and one Ultra ATA port and supports up to two serial and two Ultra ATA drives. In new SATA-compatible machines, the motherboard uses a controller chip that supports SATA.

You'll also need new cables. Some SATA drives use different power cables and all use different signal cables, so you may not be able to use the traditional 4-pin power connectors. Serial ATA drives require power connectors with , , and .3 volts. Current 4-pin ATX-type power supplies provide only drive power connectors with the traditional and volt signals. This means your PC may need a power supply fitted with SATA drive power connectors or an adapter.

I need to know what order to put the wires from the mother Bord to the floppy drive to the cd Rom\burner to the hard drives

The floppy drive has it own data cable and does not connect to the same cable as the hard drive and CD ROM/R-W drive.
If the hard drive and CD drive are IDE devices, then the hard drive should be the connected to the connector at the end of the IDE cable and the jumper on the hard drive set to Master. The CD drive should be connected to the middle connector and its jumper set to Slave. The other end connector should be connected to the Primary IDE connector on the motherboard.

How to install 2 t hard drive in computer compaq

A 2Tb hard disk will be a SATA hard drive. If your PC Desktop does not have a SATA disk controller then your have a couple of options.

1. Insert a SATA controller card into the PCI expansion slot, mount the SATA hard drive inside the PC case and then connect the SATA hard drive to the controller (you will also need a 4 pin power to SATA adapter cable) and install the SATA controller driver.

2. The other option (and the easiest) is to purchase an external USB 2Tb hard drive. All you need to do is, plug it into the USB port of your computer and it will see it as an external storage device.

When my computer starts it goes to a black screen and says "no bootable device jnsert boot disk and press any key" what can i do

Normal 0

This error message - "No bootable device. Insert boot disk and press any key" means -

The PC cannot see a boot file/disk on either the hard disk or floppy drive.
Check the floppy drive and remove and floppy disk.
If there was no disk in the floppy drive then it is a hard disk problem.
Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case and re-seat the data cable on the hard drive and also where it connects to the motherboard disk controller.
If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect the hard drive, then the hard drive is probably faulty.
A further check on the hard drive, remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port, if this computer does not detect it as an external storage device then the hard drive is faulty.
To get the computer working again, install a new hard drive in your computer and then install Windows on the new hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

I think that the wires to the disk driver are in the wrong place, whats the right way they go in

Primary IDE Connector with Hard-Disk Drive To connect the PC-DVD drive to the primary IDE connector with the hard disk, perform the following steps:
  1. Back up the files on your hard-disk drive before you proceed.
  2. Set the jumpers on the PC-DVD drive as slave and the jumpers on the hard-disk drive as master (see Figure 11).
  3. Connect the power cable and IDE data cable to your hard-disk drive as shown in Figure 13.

I want to pull info off a hard drive & put onto a disc.

Hi,
If your new computer doesn't accommodate the drive then you will need a three and a half inch hard drive enclosure to put the hard dive in from the other computer.
You will have to look at the drive to work out which type enclosure you will need.
It will either be a SATA connection like this >>>>
3be7131.jpeg

Or a IDE/ATA connection like this >>>>
60d4e19.jpeg

If you compare the connections on these examples you will one has plastic connections and one has brass pin connections.
As soon as you know which type of drive you have you can then proceed to purchase an enclosure.
When you have got the correct enclosure all you have to do is install the drive and connect it your new computer.
You will be able to access the drive, copy your data and use the drive as an external hard drive.

Regards.

No Master drive 0 found

Hello!

this problem is made loss connection of the hard drive, Busted battery In the motherboard, Is this new harddrive? if yes then check the jumper setting, see label setting on the hard drive. It should be the hard drive is the master. no problem with your CD rom.

solution: replace the battery in the motherboard. and fix loss connection of the hard drive. or refix all the connection inside the system.
same issue occur, try to examine the hard drive maybe maybe you have to interchange the connection of the hard drive and the CD rom. if still , then try to not connect the CD rom only the hard drive.

Failure to resolve in this solution you may either change the cable of the hard drive or change the hard drive.

best regards, melnavz

ps. don't forget to rate me good rating.
