Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I installed vista recently and I am no longer able to scan- went to get updates for this feature and I thought I installed all the drivers necessary but I still get an error message"you deed to install or run HP software for this feature"
I use the same printer on several Vista systems with no issues. HP printers are very finicky relative to setup, however. The key to success, I have found, is to make sure that you don't plug the USB cord into the printer until the HP wizard prompts you to do so.
To get you in business, I'd do this. First, go into control panel, installed programs, and uninstall all HP software. Then go to www.hp.com and DL the latest complete SW package (if you have not yet done so). Make sure the USB cable is not plugged into the machine, then start the HP SW installation program. Follow the prompts carefully from there and you should be good to go!
Please let me know if this helps, and provide a rating for my solution if you see fit. Good luck!
