Go to System Preferenced/Network and configure your new Airport Extreme card. Download and install the Airport Extreme Enabler from Apple in order to use the card in 802.11n mode. Reboot you Mac.

Hi, it;s all in the manual above..it shows you how inside.
basically, hook up via an Ethernet, use a browser, to address the router, and login then simply enter your ISP details etc. and you should be all good.. As I said have a look in the manual.

I wish to add my grandson's PC to my account.

your statment dosnt clearly define what you intend to do im going to guss your reffering to an account on your internet conection this is only posible if you have a broadband conection
ie dsl or cable modem
if you do the next pice of hardware you will need is a router i recomend the newer standerd witch is defined as wirless N or simply N the older tech is the g standard
the diffrence in the 2 is conectivity speed
the g standard has a max thru put of 150 Mb/s
where as the N standard has a thruput of 1
Gb/s or 1000 Mb/s
i just bought a netgear n300 to replace a failing 12 year old lynksis g standard
works great but isnt expandable past 4 pc's with out using the wirless features but i have no intention of ever having more then 4 pc's hooked up in this house so no big deal there
I paid 79$ for my N300 from bestbuy
once you have the router the rest is a matter of hooking it up and configuring it
hope this is what you ment by adding your grandsons computer to your account
if not you will have to repost and in alot more details about what your intent is
best of luck the all knowing moron

I have a dell Vostro 200..I want to go wireless with a Airport, Just got a Mac with the airport, will this work?

The airport is just a receiver that picks up wireless signals.

If you want your computer to pick up wireless, you need a wireless
router, and a wireless card that goes into the computer so it can see the router and get the signals.

There are tons of wireless products, and it depends on the slots you have on which kind of wireless card you get.

Use the Wireless setup in Control Panel to configure your wireless connection. Setup your wireless configuration with the disc you received with your Router/Modem. Call your Inet vendor for help.

AirPort for XP?

If the earlier version is all you have and if it works under XP, then bite the bullet and install it. Otherwise, if you can get to a working computer and head to Apple's site for an updated version. Another thing you can try is see if you can access the Airport like any other router: the default gateway IP address in an internet browser address bar. See your friends computer for the default gateway and type it in. Couldnt hurt. Let us know what happens.

Have XP operating system, Comcast service, Airport extreme router and a Linksys wireless N antenna. Windows say: Cannot configure this wireless connection. What's wrong?

another program is using the wireless utility, you may find this program in start menu / programs / ... open this program and you will be able to connect to your WLAN - also check your tool bar near the clock - an icon for the WLAN may be there,

if you would like windows manage your wireless you may need to enable the wireless zero configuration service within admin tools / services

A is there a wireless router that actually works consistently with mac computers

For as little as half the cost of the Base Station, you can buy an AirPort-compatible wireless router that offers most of the AirPort Base Station's features (and in some cases, even more).

The AirPort were the easiest to set up, and works rather smoothly vs all the other routers on the market.

All the others tended to have a few hiccups, some more than a few, but the AirPort is Macs best bet.
