Question about BenQ MP770 DLP Projector

Open Question

Vertical parallel lines across the screen, sometimes they disappear after a while or sometimes not.

When the projector (bought April 07 but low useage - every couple of weeks for a few hours) is first powered up, thin parallel vertical lines appear across the screen. They're black but seem to have little flashing lights too. No other indicator lights (like the lamp or the temp) are on, so don't think it's the bulb. The first time it happened they disappeared after about 15 mins. The second time, still there after an hour. Tonight, they disappeared when I turned it off and back on. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

SOURCE: Thin vertical line appears on projector

Hi Martin103

This is a typical BenQ Mp Series problem , and will notice that it will start of intermittently , but later on the white line will appear every single time.

This can only be fixed by replacing the Mainboard of the MP710/720/721

Multiple reddish pink vertical lines going from

Hi

We can check if the problem is on the hardware(projector) itself or if from source(device connected to projector) try to turn on projector without connecting any other devices to it. If you can still see the pink line- try to remove bulb and reinstall it. If all fails and pink line still visible, there is a problem with projector. If no line is present- check settings and change input signals.

Hope this helps

VERTICAL WHITE LINES

I just read a post that said tap on the top and the line will go away. I tried it on mine and it worked! I had to tap it fairly hard. I just kept tapping harder and harder on the plastic in front of the buttons and voila! The vertical white line disappeared!

White vertical line in the center of projected image

I have a Dell 2400MP projector that had the same problem of vertical white lines appearing over the screen.

This may seem like a simple solution, and I don't know if this will work for you, but the way I solved the problem was simply to press the bottom side of the projector, until the white lines disappear . Until now, the problem has yet to resurface.

Here's some simple steps:
1. Turn on projector
2. Connect projector to computer
3. Focus projector
4. If white vertical line appears, firmly press underside body of projector
5. See if vertical white line disappears
6. If not, try slowly pressing other parts of the body of the projector and see if white lines disappear.
7. If solution doesn't work, you may need to send it to the service center.

Hope this solution works for you.
